GAME THREAD: Round 1, Game 4 - Mavericks @ Blazers, 4.23.11, 2 PM

A lot like the Brian Shaw 3 pointer.

I would like to apologize to Brandon Roy for comparing him to one of the darkest moments in Blazer history.

Lol. That's two of us. I can't believe how bad that series was to make remember it even if it happened 11 years ago.

can we win on the road?

They'll have to. Remember that post I made about the Blazers not having a moment when they grabbed Dallas by the throat, looked them in the eye, and screamed I'M WINNING THIS SERIES NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO!!! ? Yeah, I saw that.

Will the Blazers come out sharp in game 5, or will we get our asses kicked out of the building?

WOOOOHOOOOO!

I JUST HAD ANOTHER WAVE OF EUPHORIA!!!

Better than E, my friends!

This game is making me go out and do the "happy" drinking instead of the "pissed off" drinking I was planning.

My head and throat is kind of aching now from all that yelling and jumping for joy.

Go back into your hole on the other board.

I won't put up with the shit that you and others threw at Brandon Roy. You called for his benching, and you were wrong. I never want to see you bitch about Nate McMillan again.

Well lucky for me I don't care what you want. The way Brandon played most of the year and in the first two games he should have been benched. I did say in another thread that if he is playing well, then play him. He is playing well right this moment, so play him. What exactly did Nate do to win this game? We got down huge by playing Nate ball, and came back and won by pressuring and speeding up the offense.

You ass must be pretty sore from sitting on that fence for so long.

Get lost SlyPokerDog.

Shouldn't be allowed to call people names, but a mod won't do anything about....That's a shame.

What fence have I been sitting on exactly? Brandon played a great game. He has also played two shitty games. Why does it have to be all or nothing with some people? Nate should do the same thing he did this game going forward. If Brandon is on, then play him. If he sucks then bench his ass. My opinion is that he can't sustain this effort going forward because of injuries. Dallas will also adjust to the ISO ofense quickly, as they and every other team last year

Portland becomes the third NBA team in the shot clock era to win a playoff game when trailing by 18+ entering the fourth quarter.

Ernie Johnson said it was historic, I guess that stat shows how historic it really was. Huge choke job by the Mavs

I was there. Roy made me cry manly tears of joy. Thank you, Blazers... especially you, Brandon. I apologize for having been so hard on you earlier. I'm glad you've been able to put two fantastic games together. Thanks for picking up the team on your shoulders and saying "How about we win this one?"

Sorry MM, I went over to my parents house to watch the rest of the game with my dad.

And for anyone else there is no way I'm going to read thru all of these threads and clean up insults. Instead of complaining about what a shitty mod I am (which I will be the first to agree with you) please just pm me with the offending post and I will immediately fix it.

Wow, what an incredible comeback, an incredible win!

I thought the first half couldn't be uglier. I was wrong.

Here's me doing my kingspeed impersonation: believe harder for biggest 4th qtr comeback in NBA history. Yippee!

Hey, yea . . . I called it . . . notice the lack of green text in my original post?

I never had a doubt ;)

I just believed harder!

I think I'm going to go through every single thread that has been created since the end of the game and post:

"ZOMFG - what a fucking incredible win!!!1!!!!11!!!!!1!!!one!!! Shit fuck motherfucker yeah!!!!"

:o)

I turned off the TV 10 minutes ago. I'm going out to eat.

If Paul Allen won't fire this crappy coach, I will slowly lose enthusiasm for this team.

You missed the one of the best finishes in the history of basketball. Hope you learned your lesson. It ain't over till it's over.

Guys, that was the most amazing basketball game I've ever witnessed and I can't believe I was there to witness it fucking courtside. I was completely crying from the 4 point play to the end. Bawling. The crowd never ever gave up on the team. We cheered "Let's Go Blazers" and "Defense Defense" all game long.

What can I tell you? Kevin a love never stood up, never cheered for us, seemed entirely uninterested in the game the entire 4th quarter, at least when I looked at him. The last several minutes of the game, DeShawn Stevenson was slapping Roy's knee with his hand. Roy's 4th quarter was the most impressive individual playoff performance since LeBron's Game 5 vs Detroit in 2007. Roy didn't score as many points as LeBron but the circumstances- Roy being injured, team down 23- puts it on that level.

When Kidd shot the three that could've given them the lead, he was two feet in front of me. We hollered at our players all game. At one point we cheered on Rudy and he nodded at us. We told Roy we loved him during the 4th quarter cuz we know he loves the fan support.

It was amazing. I immediately called my contact and bought the exact same seats for Game 6. I hope that game ends the series in our favor.

GO BLAZERS

Oh and everyone was hugging and high fiving throughout the 4th quarter and most people didn't want to leave after. It was truly special.

^^^That's gotta get some rep from you, Eric! I channeled you!

Of course as a fan, but on a personal level, I'm just so happy for Brandon. Not the basketball player, but the person. And did you see how his teammates couldn't wait to embrace him? It says a lot about what they think of him.

Fuck it. I'm a pussy. I'll admit I teared up. So there.

When I saw Roy starting to cry after the game I almost lost it. That was so special. If Hollywood would have come up with that ending people would have said it was too unbelievable.

Thanks guys. Hey did you just see Randolph's clutch three to beat the Spurs?? Go Blazers! So happy for him. Grizzlies/Blazers WCF??
