GAME THREAD: Round 1, Game 4 - Mavericks @ Blazers, 4.23.11, 2 PM

About to start reading this thread. I know how bad some on here get when the team is playing like shit! Fire Nate, trade Brandon, BLAH BLAH BLAH! I wonder if any of you on here wish they could take back fair weathered fan rants? Let's go take a look.

I think you'll enjoy this thread, HCP. Most of us stayed OK through it, other than the few of us mad at Nate for not putting BROY in earlier than he did. Which we called out in real time, and not after the fact. :)

Be neat to read a Mavs fans game thread. Just the opposite, instead of going from hate to great, going from great to hate. :)

Too many great bi-polar posts to quote. Thru thick and thin guys...... good times and bad.

"This (expletive arena) is rowdy as hell in here. We've got to know that. We've got to knock them out. The crowd was quiet. This is one of the loudest arenas I've ever played in. When we were up 20-something points, they knew that, they could smell it. We just quietly let the crowd get back into it, let them get back into it."

I love it!! :)

Just want to say that I appreciate that Mediocre Man is on our board. He is a true Blazer fan and I appreciate his insight.

He also takes the risk of being wrong sometimes; I appreciate that.

watching the 4th quarter right now at home!!!!!! This is simply amazing!

I rewatched the whole game- the second time is just as good as the first. :)
What a magical game this was. It played kind of like a Hollywood movie about redemption, both for the Blazers as a team and for Roy, as a player.

This game is what legends are made out of. I feel so fortunate to have witnessed this game.

I will pay double what anyone else wants to pay for a ticket to game 6! Not tryin to one up anyone, but I really want to go to this game and I have the day off. Kingspeed, MGB, anyone with a lead on a ticket please let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, its crazy, like most of you I have gone back and watched the 4th quarter again and watched all the video and audio highlight clips on here and usually when you watch things again (especially if you are watching them over and over :)) you start to pick apart other things you didnt notice or it will start to lose is amazing quality. But the more I watch this the more I am amazed. What Roy did was so unreal but watching again I noticed at least 3 big assists and 1 huge offensive rebound. He did it all the 4th quarter. There is "on fire" and there is fate. If even one thing happened different in that 4th quarter we probably would have lost. This kind of fate is so so rare for Blazer fans which made it that much more special. I wish my boys had been older to see this live and truly appreciate it.

No doubt. He even got in the way of Chandler strolling to the rim and forced him to take a shot that he missed. And he was on Terry for the final shot of the night which Terry missed. Roy was in on practically every play of the fourth quarter.

On fire is hitting a couple shots over people and getting some loose balls. Fate is hitting a 3 pointer AND being fouled in the process.

On Thursday morning, Brandon's PER was -7.9 iirc. This morning, it's 22.2. That's some good home cooking!

After re-watching the game, I'm struck by how "comeback from 18 down with a quarter to go" actually undersells how epic the comeback was. Portland was really down by 21 with about a quarter to go.

Anthony Carter is currently pulling a BRoy. Yes. Anthony freakin Carter has brought the Knicks back from 23 down to just a 4pt deficit against Boston.

Actually they were down 23 twice with 13 minutes to go.

Yeah, I was watching this and the similarities were striking. Carter, like Roy, went from scrub to super sub.
23 points down in the 3rd. But it doesn't look like the Knicks will finish the comeback

Yeah, but I was referring to the score just before Roy's three pointer seconds before the quarter ended. For all intents and purposes, there was just one quarter left, time-wise, just before that three.
