is it me, or is my man Pie chart getting out jumped? =[

Pendergraph is taking a page right out of the Joel playbook with that flop. Nice! :twothumbs:

Jeter looks a helluva lot better tonight than he did two days ago.

You can see his stat line here

As for his play, he's just a very willing defender, very heady, has a nice midrange shot and he puts his nose in the middle of the action. I have no idea how this translates to the regular season, but he's kind of like the anti-travis.

Thx. I got to watch the last couple months 'Nova's games. He seems like a late bloomer. This exactly how he finished the season.

Bayless is getting unlucky with the passes, man. And Pooh is gold right now.

too bad summer league is so sloppy ;)

Wheels is almost as disappointed about this loss as he would be with any reg. season game.

Whatever. That game was super sloppy. Lots of fouls and turnovers.

Yeah, defintely not what I would call "good" basketball game. Still I am left impressed by Cunningham, Pendergraph wasn't exactly impressive, but he seems solid (much better shooting range than I ever thought I'd see) Bayless was really off tonight ... just didn't seem to get into any kind of rhythm whatsoever and forced things. Jeter was nice, had a really good second half and looked very solid with his mix of scoring and distributing. Wins and losses mean pretty much dick to me when you look at the collection of scrubs most teams trot out there.

Bayless did absolutely nothing in the second half. And it wasn't his fault. The coach just made him pass to Jeter and stand in the corner like, well, Blake. Jeter dominated the ball and thus Bayless wasn't really allowed to do anything.

I'm not going to justify it though because he had a pretty horrid first half.

Give me a break! Its never bayless fault is it? what a joke!

Man, Bayless needs to take better care of the ball. He's got 12 turnovers in 2 games. That's pretty bad to say the least.

I was excited the game was on TV so I could check out Bayless . . . almost wish the game wasn't on TV. :)

Bayless looks a long way from being an NBA PG. I want so much for him to be the future PG because of his size, his work ethic and his willingness to play physical. But he just doesn't look like a PG.

I don't think Jeter is an NBA PG, but you can tell he has a PG mentality . . . knowing when to pass, penetrate or take an outside jumper. Bayless doesn't look to be reacting to the defense but instead already having in his mind what he is going to do this time down.

Bayless is young and has the physical talents . . . I hope he can develop mentally in the next few years. Today, Nate called Bayless a scoring guard and the Blazers have to feed into his strength . . . I agree, only we already have a pretty good scoring guard . . . at least for another year.

Rudy is your backup PG, Bayless is your backup 2. Bayless defends the PG, Rudy defends the 2.

Why should we try and turn a creative passer and playmaker into a SG, and turn a good scorer into a PG?

I'll buy that.

Shoot, great point!

Actually I am more for Rudy and Roy starting, there is enough PG skills between them, and size mismatch problems they cause, to start, and Bayless plays backup to both. :devilwink:

I think Rudy will start in the 2010-2011 season, in just the fashion you speak of.

Bayless had AT LEAST 5 sure fire assists botched by his teammates and the offense was just horribly ran. Why no post ups for Jeff, why wa Jerryd just passing to the wing all the time..why weren't there any pick and rolls with he and Dante?
Also, Bayless should have taken the last shot. He actually could be a big time guy for us in the future, we need him getting all the buzzer beating experience as possible.
Oh well, it is summer league...

Dante Cunningham...David West-lite

Considering he got 4 assists in the first 7 mins of the last game he has had 5 assists and 12 TOs in the last 7 quarters.

I am a big Bayless fan but he has not played well... of course, summer league for him is not about impressing anyone or winning games (although both of those things would be nice) but working on what he needs to work on, and clearly he needs to keep polishing his ability to get other people involved and take care of the basketball.

Hopefully he's able to work through these struggles and see them as an opportunity to lay a foundation, rather than evidence that he needs to keep his game and mindset where it was last year when he dominated as a scored in summer league...
