Wos had intel from Warriors side.

He said Joe Lacob really did not want to trade Wiseman, while Myers and the coaching staff and players all wanted Payton back. So they sold the owner on a guy who will help now.

When Payton got his physical, the doctors found a lot of scar tissue as a result of a surgery from an injury he sustained as a Warrior. Internally they tried to claim that if this was anyone but Payton the "failed" physical would have voided the trade. Myers is trying to save face by blaming Portland.

So long story short, Wos thinks all this noise is just the owner being pissy that he lost his guy in Wiseman and then the org trashing Portland in the process.

If that's true, that can't be allowed. Golden State needs to be punished and the fucking NBA needs to say something. If it's true.

Like people's livelihoods are at stake (outside of the obvious hit to our future FA dealings and trades).

Wish we had some leadership with a backbone. There hasn't been comment outside of the initial statement from Joe.

Sounds more like Woj is trying to save face.

I don't want the spotify app on my computer so I 'can't' listen to the clip. Did it sound like the GM was trying to fade the heat on himself from the owner by blaming Portland

and what scar tissue I'd wonder? Did the Warriors not report a previous injury to Payton? Was the scar tissue in the area of his core surgery or elsewhere?

That was my takeaway. Owner got hot about failed physical because he was sold on a win-now piece in return for Wiseman. GM trying to deflect blame as a result.

I think the scar tissue reference was in regards to his most recent surgery, more as an indication of no new injury or findings. Just remnants from his previous one.

It does sound like the surgery didn't go very well for GP2 though. Probably some truth in that.
