Even a team like the Jazz who should be tanking like us are 1.0 game ahead of the dubs. Memphis just 3.0 games behind them, I swear it was like 7.0 just a week and a half ago.

With some luck, a pick in the #4, the dubs’ #10, #34 from the Hornets, and #36-38 from the Hawks could be in our future.

I know some of you guys hate losing, but it’s only temporary unless you’re the Pistons, Hornets, Kings, or Clippers. In a couple seasons, trust me, this team is going to be GOOD.

They’ve lived long enough to become the villains. Fans are idiotic. Give us the dynasty that those 3 had together, and I’ll defend Draymond all day. I wouldn’t feel great about it, but four championships would help me stomach the guilt LOL.
 
The Warriors are finally done. Thank god. Couldn't have ask for a better season

In the end, they probably won’t even be bad enough to get to 7th or 8th best odds. We’ve locked down at least the 5th spot, Memphis would have to leapfrog GS, and both the Raptors and Hawks would have to leapfrog GS for them to get to #6. Too far fetched.

At 9th, which is probably most realistic, they have a 1/5 chance of getting into the top 4. I’m not totally sweating about those odds.

Again, I do not see them being better next year. It is a better class next year and the pick has less protection. So, we are looking at a pick around 10 this year or something better next year.
 
If it wasn't for the pesky Trail Blazers, Brooklyn would be tied with Golden State for 9th from the bottom of the NBA.

I would have no problem if the Warriors tanked or got lucky and got into the Top-4 and we got their Top-1 protected pick next year in a much better Draft. I don't think whomever they got in this Draft would elevate them very much and they would be even older. Getting a shot at Cooper Flagg or Ace Bailey would be out-freakin'-standing!!
 
if GSW pick does land high, and the Blazers slip back a bit... how about combining the picks and move up for a super duper rookie?
 
Another crazy idea. I think I know what the answer will be, but I’m going to pitch it anyway.

Warriors send us the ‘26 and ‘28 unprotected ATL 2nds and their ‘29 and ‘30 unprotected 2nds for us to unprotect the ‘24 1st, opening up their ‘26 and ‘28 1sts to trade.

I just don’t see a way for them to make the playoffs this season no matter who they bring in. Even if they make it via the play-in, that pick is #15, maybe #16 at worse?

If you don’t think those 2nds will be good at all, or if you only care about lotto picks (which I know a lot of people do), you wouldn’t do this. ATL 2nds aren’t always high 2nds, but they’re rarely late 2nds. Warriors 2nds at the end of the decade should be between #30-40.
 
Another crazy idea: taking a flyer on Moody who fits in a TPE, the ‘26 ATL 2nd, and unprotect the ‘24 1st, allowing GSW to trade both the ‘26 and ‘28 1sts.

This deal would only be interesting to someone who is interested in Moody. This kind of trade would not fly with GS if it was Kuminga, so I’m not putting out that possibility, even if a lot of people here would prefer it.

Moody still has potential to be an impactful 3-D player. 7’0.5 wingspan, 8’9 standing reach, 1/4 inch taller than Shae. Yeah, not 6’7 like the ideal SF size, but it’s not like he’s Hart or Powell. I think we can match any amount for him in the summer of ‘25, because I don’t think he’ll be starting on our team. He’d be a backup 2/3 who is still much more experienced than a guy like Rupert, or any guard/SF that we could draft next summer.

Don’t know if I’d do this, but I’d consider it closer to the deadline if dubs approached us with this.

Unpopular opinion because I know how much love Kuminga gets here, but I’m watching more and more of Moses Moody, and he just looks like someone who fits with these guards.

Moody is not going to be a star. I don’t ever expect him to be a star, which a lot of people here say Kuminga could be in the future. I think those give Kuminga even a 50/50 shot will be disappointed. BUT. If you only expect Moody to be a really good 3-D player who averages maybe 15ish ppg, plays good defense, and could come in with a lot of energy and not expect to play on the ball, I think you’ll be satisfied with taking a flyer on him.

I think that Moody is going to make the most money trying to be a great 3-D player in the next 1.5 seasons. You could talk about him expanding his game in his mid-later 20s, but I don’t think he gets the big extension worrying about those other things this early.

Between Scoot, Shae, and Rupert, I just really like Moody’s fit as a backup 2/3. Camara—stout defender. Walker—energy guy who can really rebound.
 
I'd absolutely be interested in any deal in which we pick up extra assets just for removing the protections on the GSW pick.
 
There's no world in which we get 4 2nds or moody for unprotecting a top 4 protected pick. If they're trading their 26 and 28 picks, they're getting someone who will very likely keep them out of the top 4, and the receiving team would very likely easily accept the picks with wording of if not conveyed Yada Yada

Well they wouldn’t be able to trade their ‘26 pick. Unprotecting the ‘24 pick would be the purpose of freeing up ‘26, allowing them to actually trade two in hopes of acquiring the right player for them.

I think they’d need to attach a 1st just to get rid of Wiggins right now. CP3 is merely salary filler that would need to be attached to either Kuminga or Moody—and we have no idea what Kuminga will fetch. Indy offering up Walker would beat any Kuminga-related packages. Idk, I’m skeptical on what one 1st will actually do for them. I absolutely think they would want to unprotect that ‘24 1st if it meant making all in moves to compete between ‘24-‘26, that’d be three more years of trying to help Curry compete. That’s one 1st at the end of Curry’s career and one 1st post-Curry. They already messed up having to trade a 1st multiple years post-Curry to undo the Poole issue, so they’re going to be bad for several years after Curry regardless.

It might not be 4 2nds, but it would have to be more than a couple if they want to maximize these last 2-3 years of Curry.
 
Fucking Bulls. Kuminga is nice but seems to be another Jerami Grant on the boards.
 
Guys, everyone chill. The Bulls loss is not a big deal, especially if the Jazz beat the Raptors tonight. It’ll be like nothing even happened.

Both the Jazz and Warriors have a game tomorrow, Jazz play the falling Lakers, while Dame has an opportunity to gift us a dubs loss. They’re still a game out of contention. And on top of this:





- Wiggins/Looney “next to zero” value
- Kuminga demanded in any trade for Siakam, but dubs need to be willing to extend Siakam for the max, which they’re unwilling to do
- Klay still wants his money
- we don’t know if Draymond has even changed. How do we know that another pest around the league doesn’t try to instigate on any random night.
- still only have one 1st to trade, so star hunting is way too tough
- they still are at our mercy if they want to include another 1st into her deal

Even when we’re losing, holy shit am I enjoying this season. So many other things to root for.

most evaluators of this next draft class don't think any of the prospects are in that category. The following draft class is supposed to have some top end talent though

He’s averaging just as many rebounds on less playing time, so alittle better, probably a 6rpg kind of guy in his prime. But you’re right, nothing to be head over heels about. This was his fourth 20point game this year, second in this stretch without Draymond. 25% from 3 in that stretch prior to this game.

All fans are like that. Plenty of Blazers fans are classless, we just don’t have rings or “glory days” to brag about, lol.

I completely understand their fanbase to booing Jerry. They also cheered as soon his wife hit the screen. Obviously, it’s no ill will towards him or his family, it had everything to do with Jerry’s relationship with their greatest player ever.
