Nets Keys to the Game

-Keyon Dooling needs to keep up the good work filling in as the starting PG. The Nets have no backup for him other than VC as a part-timer. He's quick enough to keep up with TJ Ford and his defense on the Pacers' point guard will be important tonight.

-Rebound. Box out. The Nets were out rebounded by 14 last time these two teams met in Indianapolis (Pacers won 98-80).

-Cut down on the turnovers. The Nets lost control of the ball way too much against the Heat, mostly because of stupid mistakes such as travels and bad passes rather than man-to-man steals.

-Consistently score from deep. This is a key every game. The Pacers have size and strength inside and the Nets don't have a dominant big man to turn to on offense. Hayes, Simmons, Dooling, Yi and Carter will have to supply some three pointers for the Nets to have a chance, especially with Devin Harris and his ability to drive to the basket gone.

-Don't break apart in the 4th. The Nets have been outscored in the 4th quarter in their past two games and lost largely because of that fact.

X Factor

Vince Carter. He'll need to somehow contain Danny Granger, who has exploded so far this season and is averaging nearly 26 points per game, while scoring efficiently and leading the offense.

Prediction

Nets 96 - Pacers 90

nice lets go nets... that miami lost was tough... i freaking watched it... and it hurt to watch... and i already new the results cuz i watched it at like 1 am...

Yea I'm goin to this game cuz my college sponsored it. Something like 12 dollars for 80 dollar seats. NEts-pacers but hell ill take that deal lol

Any update on Devin's status?
I'll be watching this game since work starts late, oh yeah (I live in Asia).

He said today he was "66 percent" at practice and is a game time decision. He was going to try and do some cutting drills to see how the ankle felt. I don't see him starting this game, but if he does play I could see him coming off the bench to try and slowly feel his way back in.

We really need this game tonight. Like I said in the Miami game thread, this teams mental state after the 2nd half of the Pacers away game was horrible. Then to lose the way they did on Monday after playing so well was devastating for this young team. Those two games are the type that send you on a 5,6,7,8 game skids as we saw last year. The NETS need to come out and be aggressive and run the PACERS off the court. With a tough game coming up on Friday against the Hawks, I can't stress enough how much this team needs the win.

P.S. My season ticket rep hooked me up after I complained about paying so much for tickets and seeing people get free tickets left and right. I got seats in section 125 in the "Courtside Suite" seating, and pass to the court side club. So make sure you have a good relationship with your rep. because they can really hook you up. Hope it's a good game. LETS GO NETS!!!

Two players gotta get mad at themselves and start performing: Boone and Lopez.

I hope Devin doesn't rush and play too quickly. I'd rather have him 100% than to re aggravate his ankle.

No, no, no. I have to decide whether to watch this game or the Lakers-Hornets?!

You're not a Nets fan, I guess

Hey, hey. You don't know of the many sacrifices I've made in the name of the Nets in the past. I'm talking skipping school to watch them play the Knicks and the crappiest of crap teams, staying up until 3:30 in the morning, on a school day no less, to see them play their matinee games. And blowing off parties so I'd have enough energy to wake up the next morning to see them play.

The Hornets just happen to be my number 2 team.

How the hell do you come out and fall 11-4 to the freak'n Pacers who are missing Dunleavy and Granger.
