Nets Keys to the Game
-Keyon Dooling needs to keep up the good work filling in as the starting PG. The Nets have no backup for him other than VC as a part-timer. He's quick enough to keep up with TJ Ford and his defense on the Pacers' point guard will be important tonight.
-Rebound. Box out. The Nets were out rebounded by 14 last time these two teams met in Indianapolis (Pacers won 98-80).
-Cut down on the turnovers. The Nets lost control of the ball way too much against the Heat, mostly because of stupid mistakes such as travels and bad passes rather than man-to-man steals.
-Consistently score from deep. This is a key every game. The Pacers have size and strength inside and the Nets don't have a dominant big man to turn to on offense. Hayes, Simmons, Dooling, Yi and Carter will have to supply some three pointers for the Nets to have a chance, especially with Devin Harris and his ability to drive to the basket gone.
-Don't break apart in the 4th. The Nets have been outscored in the 4th quarter in their past two games and lost largely because of that fact.
X Factor
Vince Carter. He'll need to somehow contain Danny Granger, who has exploded so far this season and is averaging nearly 26 points per game, while scoring efficiently and leading the offense.
Prediction
Nets 96 - Pacers 90
