Guns Make People Safe

I may be wrong but I've always been under the assumption that it's a crime to knowingly transfer a firearm to a person prohibited to possess one..

Any firearm to any person in any State where the purchase or possession by such person of such firearm would be in violation of any State law or any published ordinance applicable at the place of sale, delivery or other disposition, unless the licensee knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the purchase or possession would not be in violation of such State law or such published

18 U.S. Code § 922

This is actually interestingly enough the one that covers Sly's question too.

who, being an alien—

is illegally or unlawfully in the United States;

Y'know, when I was a kid, I loved guns. Fucking loved them. Pew pew pew! My parents disapproved, so I had to save up my own money to buy things like replica Lugers (as featured in the War comics my parents also disapproved of).

But

then I hit puberty. And magically, I didn't give a shit about them any more.

Maybe America needs to hit puberty.

Nope. All of my family was born in this country legally, and they have NO ties to illegal immigrants.

Not everyone who has a car is responsible either. But there's no background check to purchase a car. AND it's legal.

And a car that is abused can easily kill someone.

To quote an edited part of my above post:

You'll find this the case with most gun owners in this country.

Unfortunately, yes, there are some irresponsible gun owners out there. But a background check can't find "irresponsible" if it's not on a person's criminal record.

Since we've shifted to cars...

We have much tighter control of cars then we do guns. We have records of every car from manufacturer to dealer to purchaser and so on and so on. I would support this for guns.

The majority of car owners don't drink and drive but we still have laws against it. These laws protect us from irresponsible car owners.

Thanks, that's what I thought.
Re your other post, small arms covered by the 2nd, most if not all of the cannonry used in the revolution were owned by citizens. I remember a few were Thomas Jefferson's, some were owned by Washington, etc.

Jesus, get a room.

So you have nothing of value to contribute to this thread, huh?

What's wrong? Facts and logic too much for you?

Maybe America needs to hit puberty.

Good idea. So tell me....when will your balls drop?

LMAO, no we don't. Any felon in this country can go buy a car without a background check. That's not the case with guns; except if you're a gang banger with ties to stolen firearms.

I knew a tucker with a class A CDL who was making very good money with 2 drug felonies on his record. Already did time in prison for them. Now he drives an 80,000 lb car hauler, and races funny cars in his off-time.

We have records of every car from manufacturer to dealer to purchaserand so on and so on.

And we have records of every gun purchased through an FFL with the BATFE, so what's your point?

The majority of car owners don't drink and drive but we still have laws against it. These laws protect us from irresponsible car owners.

Bullshit. I have personally had encounters with 9 drunk drivers in my life since I started driving at 16; including a double-fatality that occurred 50 feet from my doorstep here in Cascade Park.

Those laws prosecute. They don't protect. And any drunk with a felony record can go purchase a car without a background check.

That's not nearly as easy with guns, since the majority of them are owned by responsible people with common sense and logic.

Whereas people don't associate cars as being dangerous.

Okay, you've convinced me. Background checks on everyone who wants to buy and/or drive a car!

But more importantly, we're actually have a logical, sane, and civil discussion on gun, (and oddly enough) car control.

Congrats! We both win!

Speaking of guns, can I just say....this new CZ P10C makes my trousers tight....

That barrel is thick as hell.

This could be the new Glock 19 killer.

I can't wait to see MAC put it through the gauntlet in the Spring.

I've got a couple CZ 22's but I've never handled one of their handguns. I'll have to see if Keith brings any down to the Rickreal show next month. To lazy to drive to Gresham...

He was telling me about touring their factory and how amazing it is what they do with what they have. A nd their safety program or lack of it. Guys grinding with no eye protection at all!

Check out Grand Power, they're in Slovakia and so far I've seen some good reviews. It might be on their site a video of a guy that was sponsored by CZ switched to GPS.

I like Keith's for their selection. They'll be my "go to" place when I'm ready to buy a long gun.

I haven't been there in probably 10 years though; last time I was, there was a guy who was a real dick face that worked there. I think he was one of the owners or something. A real asshole. I think I also had an encounter with him at the Portland Expo Center when I was trying to sell a Ruger P89 at the gun show.......

There was a cute freckled girl that worked there too, who looked like she wanted to be anywhere else but there. She even handed me a gun to look at with two fingers, without checking it.

In as far as Grand Power, I'm definitely saving that website. Though DA./SA guns aren't my thing. Cocked-and-locked SA or DAO is the way I roll.

Back before they came to their senses about gun free zones.

As always, the left leaves out the entire quote:

"First, we believe in absolutely gun-free, zero-tolerance, totally safe schools. That means no guns
in America's schools, period ... with the rare exception of law enforcement officers or trained se
curity personnel."

Gun Control advocates cherry-picking a speech from the NRA to fit their agenda.....what a surprise, huh?

The first part of the quote involving Project Exile involved this statement:

Armed gangbangers should be afraid of getting caught. But in the past 2 years, the President's Justice Department has prosecuted only 11 juveniles anywhere in the country for illegal possession of handguns.

He also went on to say:

The National Rifle Association believes in no unsupervised youth access to guns, period. We have always supported holding adults responsible for willfully and recklessly allowing access to firearms. So we support mandatory penalties for juvenile criminals caught carrying guns. But out of the thousands of these armed teen thugs, we believe the Clinton Justice Department should have prosecuted more than just 3 in 1997 and 8 in 1998. That's not zero tolerance.

We believe that a lawful, properly-permitted citizen who chooses to carry a concealed firearm not only deserves that right, but is a deterrent to crime. We support the right to carry because it has helped cut crime rates in all 31 states that have adopted it ... with almost no abuse of any kind by the lawful citizens who took the courses, submitted to the background checks, passed the tests and became part of a proud citizens movement that's making America a safer place to live. The truth is, very few actually choose to carry a gun -- but the bad guys don't know which few they are.

See that? That's called "research".

But hey....you've already made it clear that you don't care about reality or facts, so I'm wasting my time here.

Did your guys schools not have Police Officers in them? School Resource Officers?

Youth Services Unit?

Maybe America needs to hit puberty.

When you hit manhood, you will need a gun.

Offer us an example of the amendment you expect would pass through the process.

Every gun costs $20,000 to $50,000 but comes with a free car. Can't sell one without the other. The car would be tracked but not the gun. Everyone happy.

Okay so according to https://nasro.org/state-associations/ 33 States have "State Associations" (I'm assuming this means Police but it could be Administrators?) I'm pretty sure this isn't counting like all the Police that would be in schools from D.A.R.E. like programs since that'd be under Youth Services.

In 2007, as shown in Figure 2, 38% of local law enforcement agencies reported using SRO

NCES reports that 37% of high schools did not have an SRO present at least once a week during the 2007-2008 school year, compared to 45% of middle schools and 76% of elementary schools.

Also, 59% of city schools did not have an SRO present at least once a week, compared to 65% of suburban schools, 57% of town schools, and 72% of rural schools.21 Finally, 26% of schools with enrollments of 1,000 or more students did not have an SRO present at least one day U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics, 2007-08 School Survey on Crime and Safety (SSOCS), School Resource Officers: Law Enforcement Officers in Schools Congressional Research Service 7 a week while 57% of schools with enrollments of 999-500 students, 73% of schools with enrollments of 499-300 students, and 84% of schools with enrollments of less than 300 students did not have an SRO present at least once a week.

It looks like there isn't anything up to date about this but we can pretty safely assume this number has gone up because of:

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.co...-a-page-from-the-nra-funding-cops-in-schools/

So I guess a bunch of Schools already have guns in them.

That's a very sobering video, but nothing that I didn't already know. Funny how the MSM won't report any of it, huh?

The Otis McDonald case passed on a 5-4 margin in favor of McDonald. 5-4. Same with the Heller v. DC decision.

Imagine what future votes would be like against people like McDonald if Hillary had been elected.....

Justice Breyer actually had the gall to write this:

Justice Breyer wrote, "In sum, the Framers did not write the Second Amendment in order to protect a private right of armed self defense. There has been, and is, no consensus that the right is, or was, 'fundamental.'"[25]

Gee, I can see where racism plays a part in Gun Control, Justice Breyer....

What's that? You were appointed by Clinton?

I see. And people wonder why I don't vote Democrat.

Otis McDonald died in 2014. I'm glad he got to live long enough to see his Rights upheld. Rights that should never have been denied in the first place.
