Interesting that after his incredible start he's now avg 25.9 PPG, shooting 43% and 25% from 3, his TO's (4.57) just about equal his assists per game (4.6). I wonder how his full season stats will end up?

That will happen when they have no other talent on the team.

...Harden is a perennial "choke artist" when it comes to coming through in the clutch, sadly, his entire career will be marred by this. OKC was the perfect situation for him since he would much rather be a 3rd or even 4th option on a good team. Does anyone remember how his Sun Devils career went down? More of the same :sigh:

Jeremy Lin is having a decent season.

These latest stats must be wrong, though, because I was under the impression that Harden was the greatest player who ever lived.

well the trade happened so fast that Harden didn't really have a "system" to play in and other defenses didn't really scout him. he was basically playing street ball.

I already said that because of China, they will be the starting backcourt in the all-star game.

Lin and Asik are talented.

I thought he played for Arizona.

Nate- you still wish we traded LA for Harden? Harden is garbage.

It's just the Hornets, but at the half he has 19 on 7-11 shooting. Also, Lin's not scoring much, but 4 points, 3 steals, 3 assists and a couple of boards at the half isn't too bad. But again, its the Hornets, so....

...you thought wrong, again :devilwink: He choked in the 2009 Pac-10 tourney to USC and couldn't even get his team out of the second round of the South Regional.

He's 23 years old. Lets close the chapter on his career.

He was All-Pac10 tournament that year. Damian Lillard couldn't even get his team to the NIT. Does it matter?

...probably, Harden crumbles in the biggest of games [he may have some accolades and awards, but he doesn't have the W's when they count the most]

I have yet to see Lillard play in a "BIG" game so I can't really say for certain.

You can't really say it for certain about Harden either. Just because his team was on the losing end of big games doesn't mean he'll never amount to shit. Look how long it took Lebron to win a title. Jordan the same way. The fact that were closing the chapter on Harden because he had a bad finals appearance as a 22 year old is pretty silly. Most players at 23 have never sniffed a big game.

...he doesn't like being "the man", period. LeBron has always thrived being "the man". Same with Kobe. Same with Jordan. Harden is much more like Rasheed in this regard, always preferring to play second or third fiddle. You are right, time will tell...but I am going to trust my guts until ole Baby Face proves me otherwise [don't bet on it!]

He turned down the OKC offer and signed an extension with the Rockets because he wants to be "the man".

Or maybe you know, he wants that extra 25 million.

Money and to be "the guy". Cornerstone. Face of the franchise...all that good stuff...

It's weird how this fanbase clamors for players to hate on. Kevin Love on line 2.

Not hating. Harden is a great player. I just thought your comment was funny in the context of his situation.

...Harden's motives were purely monetary, he will continue choking when called upon to be "the guy" :crystalball: [he even wrote Presti an email before he was drafted saying as much]

And I've hated on him ever since he was with ASU, and his continued disappearing act in BIG games only helps to justify my stance. I will be amazed if he is able to get any of his future teams past the 2nd round while being "the guy".

I'm a fan of his game. DOn't think he is anywhere near a #1 guy though. I do have a problem when people start saying so-in-so player has never been past the first round or so-in-so has never won a ring. Guys who's game I have or had tons of respect for like T-Mac/ Andre Miller/ Charles Barkley........ TMac like only got his team past the first round like once. It wasn't HIS fault. Like Andre Miller not getting past the first round...... that guy leaves it on the floor every night, wasn't his fault his teammates didn't step it up in the playoffs. And Chuck...... never won a ring along with Stockton and Malone. The fact they didn't doesn't make them any less of players compared to people who have. Just my opinion.

I guess what I'm saying is, you can't judge how good a player is if their weak ass teammates don't help.
