I wanted TRob to fall to us that draft....eating crow tastes ok but is hard to frickin' chewI do like to see these threads bumped. It is always a surprise to see how right I was....![]()
Didn't watch last night's game, but in the 3 I did watch Barnes looked awful.
I am certain that Nic is a much better player, overall. Not sure if he is a better overall player than Nic.

Ugh, I dunno. I don't really like the trade - but perhaps Barnes and Ezeli could be flipped in another trade. Lee is a decent stop-gap PF - if the trade meant that we'd FOR SURE not sign LMA then I'd do it. But they'd have to give us at least one FUTURE unprotected draft pick - I'd ask for one a few years down the line hoping that they slide back to sucksville when we're owed the pick. But, would you do a swap? They're trying to get rid of David Lee and his contract, something like...

with a 1st rounder thrown in by GS?
They'll be in heavy tax area when they resign their dudes, and they can cut Kaman immediately for around $5 mil in cap savings.
I'd much rather have Livingston.
Barnes works fine for them. He's a solid enough Ariza-type. But basically he's Wes, only not quite as good at... everything.
If we trade Batum, we wouldn't have a starting SF, or even a true backup SF.I'd much rather have Livingston.

Good to see a take from a GS fan perspective. Personally, I'd rather have Iggy than Barnes, but can't come up with Iggy + Lee salary from our end.Barnes and a 1st to take 1 year of David Lee? Seems like a bad deal for GS, especially since they will only pay the tax for 1 year and their owner says he's willing to do it.
Barnes was fortunate that he got to be a 5th option on the w's but the kid can play. And he really impressed me when he played 4 against z-bo. He is much stronger than he looks. No way I give him up if I'm not upgrading somewhere else.
I still think a deal sending you Lee and Igoudala would make sense. If lma leaves, I think Lee is as good a pf as you can realistically hope to get for next season (assuming you want to try to be good if lma leaves) and igoudala give you the secondary ball handler and perimeter defender you need. I think GS gives those guys up cheaply but they won't just give away a real asset like Barnes. Hell, I don't even think they will give up ezeli just to avoid 1 year of tax.

It will either be Durant, Barnes or Derozen.http://basketball.realgm.com/wireta...jects-Warriors-Four-Year-$64M-Extension-Offer

There have been a couple articles that have pointed out that even with the bump in the cap coming the Warriors might not be able to afford him.Barnes' new agent has likely (correctly) informed him that he'll get significantly more next summer as an RFA than he could get this year in an extension. He is right to reject the offer.
As to the Blazers, I wouldn't be surprised if they offer him a near-max deal next summer, only to be matched at the last minute, a la Enes Kanter.

Weird, I swore yesterday there was a tweet by Harrison Barnes with Lillard at Dame's Oakland event just showing some support....seems to have been deleted.......
IF Barnes could b had for JUST Kaman (I think this deal alone would put GS over the tax & they'd have to add either a draft pick or $ to the deal. THIS deal... IS definitely a Neil kind o' deal! They could use Kaman, especially with Aldridge in SA

If that's what they would say... then I would say, "end of discussion."I think it'll take CJ McCollum being thrown in there to make it worth GS's time.
The warriors fans in the comments section seem to think that offer is way above his value.http://basketball.realgm.com/wireta...jects-Warriors-Four-Year-$64M-Extension-Offer
