Wish someone would ask Kahn: "Why, if you're so committed to Batum, wouldn't you make a valid S&T offer? Did you actually think you had leverage?"

Follow up: "So you're essentially trading picks in order to save face, that right?"

Good point.

Kahn has looked like a complete moron through this situation, so I'm going to assume that he thinks the offer of the picks is adequate value.

It would be kind of funny if Olshey didn't match. And just made Khan jump through a bunch of hoops for his own amusement.

Chris Haynes, CSNNW.com Trail Blazers Insider (@ChrisBHaynes)

CSNNW.com reported earlier this week that Portland Trail Blazers restricted free agent, Nicolas Batum, has already signed Minnesota's offer sheet worth four-years, $46.5 million.

Minnesota's general manager, David Kahn, was asked about that signing during his teleconference and Kahn responded saying Batum can't sign the sheet until Sunday.

CSNNW.com immediately got in touch with Kahn after the teleconference and he explained that Batum did sign the offer sheet on Thursday, but since Minnesota had no cap space at the time, the league ruled the offer sheet invalid and Batum must sign it again.

Hopefully, that sets the records straight.drummerrob26

I hope for our sake that is not true. Kahn can't be that dumb.

LOL. It's invalid. So it really hasn't been signed. Thus, Jaynes is wrong.

Thus, Jaynes is a douchebag and a tool. But we already knew that.

ya know, if a team pulls that kind of shit, they he right to sign a seconed offer

I think Kahn was getting help from Jaynes while putting the numbers together.

Yes, he claimed victory, then when Haynes posted that he said goodbye for the weekend.

John Canzano: Former Oregonian golf writer Bob Robinson just lit up David Kahn on 750am. "He's a buffoon," Robby said. now

Did we figure out why they can submit the offer on Sunday? Do they not need Webster's salary to come off the books to make the offer? I thought the waiver period was 7 days. Khan should have just waived Miller/Webster pre-July 1.
