So I guess Haynes isn't full of shit?

Time to change the thread title to: Haynes (previously) full of shit (and we all over react, confirmed)?

#Twolves sign restricted free agent F Nicolas Batum to offer sheet. Portland has 3 days to match; Deadline is Wed, July 18 at 11:59 p.m.

Fully expect Blazers to match Batum offer sheet. Question is, do they make Minnesota wait until 3 pm Weds?

I think the full of shit part was based on the fact that Minnesota did not have the cap room at the time to make the offer that was suggested. That proved right. Not that we didn't think Nic would ever sign one.

CSNNW confirms the terms of Nicolas Batum's offer sheet is the same -- 4-years, 46.5M with incentives that can take it to 50M.>>>>

I like the incentives -- Nic will have to take his game to a higher level and now he has many rea$on$ to do so.

I think they will match. The only comfort I can take away from this is that Portland is paying a LOT for Batum on a team that is lottery next year. Not sure how you'll get any more talent in here "that moves the needle".

As opposed to not having Batum AND not get anymore talent in here that moves the needle. Like another lottery team in our division.

Question: When is a trade off the table; when the offer sheet is submitted to the team or submitted to the League?

If Blazers really turned down 3 1sts and/or Derrick Wiliams in s/t for Batum, they're nuts.

I would have taken Williams. But the bottom line is why does Minnesota want Batum so badly if Williams is good as I think he is. Doesn't make sense if they really offered him in a S&T
