Haynes: Minnesota F Derrick Williams talks w/CSNNW about almost being traded to #Blazers for Nicolas Batum

You guys are being way too hard Haynes. Interviewing a player about a transaction that didn't happen is pure genius. Think of the possibilities!

Haynes: Grant Hill talks w/CSNNW about never once considering signing with #Blazers

Haynes: Dwight Howard talks w/CSNNW about a non trade to #Blazers

Haynes: Jeremy Lin talks with w/CSNNW about the contract offer #Blazers never made to him

This could turn into a great series!

I'd call it, Chris Haynes annoys NBA players with imaginary offers.

I am secretly hoping for the following to happen

1. Nic comes for his physical and is honest with Portland about his desire to play in Minnesota

2. Portland calls Minnesota and says "let's rip up the offer sheet and complete the S&T"

3. Minnesota balks, thinking they have the upper hand and says no, so Portland reaches out to Courtney Lee and offers him a 2 year deal at whatever our cap space is, and tells Minnesota they will get neither.

4. Minnesota plays ball and deals us Williams, 1 pick and we sign Lee

I'm actually leaning towards number 4 here. I'd rather have our draft pick, Williams and Lee. I'm just happy that we're going to be sticking you with a large contract on a guy that's never averaged over 14ppg in the nba. Scares the hell out of me as to whether he can become a #2 or #3 type player for your team.

It works out well for us, especially when you consider timing/structure of the other contracts on our roster.

Minne realized they made a mistake in making the commitment that would tie them up for 3 days (otherwise, Taylor wouldn't have been on the phone with Olshey). You guys missed out on several players.

Oh, and I love seeing Adelman diss D-Will.

Beautiful. Minne Kahn'ed themselves. So Kahmical!

Yeah we are sticking it to Khan and Minny! YES!!! And bitter sweet would be Batum comes in next season and averages 18/6 a game! Hahahaha

also you have to remember he plays two and three for his national team and I believe the same for Nance

Olshay instructed Ndiaye to have Nic in Portland by Wednesday:

Heading to the airport...

Jason Quick is really smart. What happened to "There isn't even going to be an offer sheet"? I bet he made up that gay bike riding story.

Taylor begged Olshey to negotiate with Batum so that Minne wouldn't have to. Ndiaye wouldn't negotiate and Minne had to honor their commitment or look like shit to future FA's. FACT.

Come Thursday, I expect Batum to be a Blazer and Lee to be a Pup. And then we'll hear all about how the Pups didn't want Batum from the Puptrollz, despite them saying he was theirs and we'd have to let Batum go. And after saying it was a good signing for them, it was dumb for us to match.

Jealousy, I say. As Fez would say, they are clearly so butthurt.

The more I think about it, the more I want us to match. I don't want minny t-sucks to get anything good. Fuck khan and his unprofessional self. I hope they have to overpay for lee as well. Even more bitter sweet!

Quick screws up plenty, but it was clear that he was guessing and not reporting facts here so no screw up this time.
His guesses were based on Minny not being stupid, which is what I actually assumed too.

He was right that there wasn't one for a FREAKEN WEEK when it was agreed to a week before that. Such BS on the wolves part for that.

What gay bike ride story? Was there a gay bike ride in Portland and Batum took part? Cool!
