well, there ya go. If you're a free agent who's really into Ice Fishing, POR is not for you. It also lacks a vibrant Turkish community.

I heard Paul Allen is buying a Turkish Community to attrack needle movers.

No need to go to Minny for that, we've got excellent hunting and fishing including ice fishing here in Eastern Oregon - about 4 hours from PDX. I have been ice fishing as well and I enjoyed it, but I couldn't enjoy it properly since it's mostly about drinking beer (and I don't drink).

Not to mention snow skiing, ocean surfing, and wind surfing all within about an hour and a half drive from Portland depending on which direction you're going.

So Nic got a /yr deal similar to Turk, Maggette, and G Wallace. Seems right in line. And the bonus is length only 4 yrs. Not as scary as I thought.

I still maintain Portland has better food and wine than Minny. And if that doesn't attract Nic, he needs to change his citizenship.

yes, clearly he would be a bad frenchman!

I think we'll stick with our salmon, crab, and other sea creatures that we can get from the ocean. Being that we have a COAST, I'd say the fishing is probably better here..... but hey, if you want to go somewhere to freeze your balls off while fishing, Minnesota is the perfect place for you!

noooo fishing in a small hole is fucking rad

Obviously none of you have ever stuck your rod in a frigid hole.

That ain't even up for debate. The wine on the West Coast is in a class by itself above wine produced anywhere else in the US.

I work with a lot of allegedly "high-class" snobs (or pompous assholes), and they will tell you that the Portland food scene is about as good as it gets outside of NY, SF, and a few other big cities. So much so that Portland-like menus are popping up in those cities.

They actually had a video posted last year of DWill and Malcolm Lee ice fishing and they were thoroughly enjoying themselves.

Big idea. I enjoy all sorts of things that I'm trying for the first time that I normally wouldn't do. Doesn't mean they're things I ever do again, or that they become my hobby.
