There were so many better coaching candidates available, it's laughable ... Olshey is a fraud and is going to run this franchise into the ground.
So it’s obvious that you are passionate about Billups not being a good hire. Who would you have liked to have seen, and why?

Oh god, where to start?

Ime Udoka - Pop coaching tree, Portlander
Becky Hammon - Pop Tree, actually coached a game
Darvin Ham - Up & Coming coach, great D coach
Charles Lee - Great up and coming coach
Mike D'Antoni - would have made Dame into MVP, teams play good enough D to win
Juwan Howard - Already ruled himself out, but from Spo's coaching tree, former Blazer, can relate to players, already turned Michigan around
Dawn Staley - USAWB Coach, Hall of Fame player, has the So. Carolina program absolutely humming
Erik Spoelstra - Long shot, but the best coach in the game imo

All great candidates, with more experience, and none of the baggage.

I’m happy, I just don’t like hearing this Fizdale shit. Gotta be better candidates than that Chauncey.

I had no problem IF Becky would have gotten the job but at some point it started to seem specially after Jody endorsed her that she was getting that endorsement CAUSE she was a WOMAN not for her coaching and in some ways the owner being a woman prolly hurt her chances a little kind of like when Dame wanted Kidd the optics basically looked off.

So do we ever get to hear who the left field candidate might have been?

It’s Dame Time! Time for a Big Shot. That’s My new Shirt

I can’t wait to see NO fall all over himself answering questions about CBs past
No one is answering those questions. It will merely be a status quo of, "We're not discussing something that was resolved over two decades ago."

Would literally be the worst possible way to handle it
It's either that or they'll put out a written statement about it and refer to that statement every time they're questioned. I mean, maybe you hear Neil say something like, "We thoroughly vetted coach Billups and were more than satisfied with what we found."

They're not going to get into a back and forth, they're not going to further the narrative of what may or may not have happened by talking about it at length. If they did I would be shocked and I'm not sure that would be the best way to handle it anyway.

The hire should have been Becky Hammon. Or even Ime Udoka. No brainers, those two. Or maybe the Trail Blazers’ head coaching job should have gone to some other qualified candidate. If general manager Neil Olshey weren’t busy orchestrating the most pathetic hiring charade in state history, we might all to get wake up intoxicated by a decent sports development today.

Instead, we’re stuck digesting an old rape case.

Expect a full blown click bait story full of opinions not facts from Jason Quick soon.

Billups will attract players as well. Highly respected and liked around the league
I hope we see that take affect this off-season

It’s a fair article

I just can’t imagine writing the same stuff over and over every day all season long about a basketball team. Like where’s the joy in that? I don’t surround myself with people or things that make me that angry so it’s hard to relate.

There were some 'haters', but there were also people legitimately questioning (for a number of years) why this we still going on and being allowed to continue given the results? Should posters instead just accept complete ineptness at times and be silent? As long as it is well thought out and expressed, no issues with those who had valid concerns. Those who posted things like 'F*** of and die', legitimate haters probably not worth having a discussion with anyhow.

There is a big difference.
