Miller has struggled more than I think any of us expected this year but I think it is becoming apparent that much of that struggle has had to do with Nate and how he wants things done as compared to Miller.

It's Miller vs. Roy, not Miller vs. Nate.

If Nate was not going to use Miller's strength's (and thus hamstring him), why did we sign him? Miller's strengths were by no means unknown.

It sure seems like he is not a real good fit. Of course, you have to remember that at the start of the year he told everyone that was listening that he can play in fast pace and half-court sets efficiently. I am not so sure he really is that great in half-court sets, honestly. The same was true in Philly as well - until they started pushing and running like crazy - his teams there did not look too hot as well...

Pritchard and McMillan both said there would be no punishment forthcoming.

"Absolutely not,'' Pritchard said. "We don't muzzle people. It's like being in a marriage. If you don't say something it builds and builds, then it's said, and when it is and it is honest and open, you can get better from it.''

Isn't KP divorced?

kp has gotten to the point where he is as predictable... as the sun coming out. Its really gross, annoying and down right annoying. Doe she think every one is dumb? How long will it take for him to admit he made a mistake and is scared to trade?

The real question is: Did Andre call Nate a "House N-Word?"

yeah b\c the reason the Blazers lost to MEM was b\c Miller told Bayless to make the 2nd free throw....not the fact that Bayless missed the 1st free throw, or tried to score himself instead of giving it to Roy for that shot, or Miller not playing almost the ENTIRE 4TH QUARTER, in the midst of a good game.....

Clearly it is all his fault....He wasn't playing "Nate's way" Actually, I thought he was doing that...by sitting on the bench.

No wonder he can't take it anymore.....I wouldn't either....

This just keeps on getting better for me.

Nate is an absolute idiot. Miller stood an excellent chance of getting a triple double if he had played the 4th quarter. Miller made the mistake of not wanting to run constant ISO's with Roy I guess? Shame on him

Miller was probably arguing the fact that Bayless ratted him out, or about McMillan's shitty use of offensive sets, or not using Andre in the fourth, etc....

Miller didn't play much in the fourth because he's old, he was tired, and he had a sore back (which kept him out of full practice today), and Nate doesn't want to use him up this early in the season. Plus, every late game second Jerryd plays = further development and experience.

HAHAHAHA....pot paging the kettle.

What is strange to me is that Nate and Dre went out to dinner and it was more them clicking than KP and Dre.

What happened? These two were suppose to be on the exact same page. How did it go from that to this?

The book on Miller seems to be playing out . . . helps on the court, bad chemistry guy off the court.

Miller has been playing great lately and we most likely lost the Memphis game due to the fact that he rode the bench for the entire 4th...

Makes you wonder why he was -11 for the game, don't it?

TrueHoop has some suggestions:

Another example: On Tuesday night Portland, a slow team, played super fast Memphis. Portland's starting point guard is Andre "not as fast as I used to be" Miller. Was Miller going to get back and stop O.J. Mayo and Mike Conley on the break? Not so much, it turned out. Instead, he abandoned that task much of the game to crash the offensive boards like the center Portland doesn't have. Heroically, one of the smallest players on the floor, who prefers not to jump, grabbed a whopping ten rebounds, five at the offensive end.

But as Miller was seeking offensive rebounds, he was busy not slowing the Grizzlies in the open court.

Was that a shrewd move on Miller's part? Were the rebounds more valuable than getting back on defense? I don't know. Blazer fans certainly cheered his grit.

But Coach Nate McMillan acted less impressed. He benched Miller for almost the entire fourth quarter, only inserting him when Juwan Howard fouled out with eight seconds left. (That also could have been because Miller is one of the team's elder statesmen who had been playing really hard for two straight nights.)

Per Quick, from Andre at practice:

Andre: "I've been a professional for 11 years, and I feel like you guys are embarrassing me!"

Why did Bayless even mention what Andre said? Bayless made the choice to do what he did. Roy is the Captain, and I would assume calls the shots............doesn't matter what Andre said.
Sounds like pass the buck to me.

It's not Miller's fault he can't hit from outside, nor that Brandon needs the ball in his hands for the majority of the fourth quarter. It's not the Blazers fault either. I'm sure they all thought that he would work better along side Brandon. They gave it a try and it's not working. This outburst is probably necessary to move on though. Either Miller and Blazers work together to find a role for Miller with the team that they can agree on or Portland sends him out via a trade. I believe they'll work closer to finding a suitable role and, in the end, be stronger for it.

who do they say he said that too? Coach? Team?

Yeah. That bothers me on two levels. One, why would Andre say something different than our leader says and two, why would Bayless listen to him.

He doesnt need to shoot from the outside to be effective on this team. Just look at how good he has been playing ever since he has been a starter, stabilizing force

To be honest, Andre, you're a professional and you're getting rewarded handsomely. Let's not pussy-foot around the situation. Your style isn't meshing well. The Blazers can try to put you in a better position with this team to succeed, but you're also going to have hear what they're saying and change.

He does if he wants to play in the fourth quarter. He's been good as a starter, yes, but not as a closer. He's a liability and we can't risk playing him for long spans in the fourth quarter. Guess what happens in the Playoffs. He'll have to sit the majority of a series. Opponents will sag off of him nearly every possession I predict.

What does he mean by that?

That the way Nate is limiting him is embarrassing? The way the press portrays him is embarrassing him? the way his teammates act towards him is embarrassing him? The play on the court is embarrassing him?

I don't get it?

I guess if it would have been a situation involving myself and I felt I had to mention who said what, I would explain why "I" did that. Like ...............I thought Miller's advice was more sound, or shit, I was trying to miss it. There is a reason why he did what he did and Andre is not to blame for another persons choices. Like mom always said, if a person told you to( insert act) would you do it?:dunno:
