Apocalyptic rain this morning. Getting groceries was a major production. Took an hour to get to Berkeley. Got home, gave car pat on the dashboard. Not leaving home until Monday and then taking BART.
Ooh, the storm is threatening
My very life today
If I don't get some shelter
Yeah, I'm going to fade away

I highly doubt it will snow all week. I’m not old but almost all of the winter storms that I can remember were only a day or two of snow.

a week would be alright with me though
That’s what they said and I think it was 2008 I think it was? We ended up with like 15 inches of snow and it snowed all week. So it’s not impossible.

I read about Lewis and Clark's arrival and stay in Oregon and they said there was a long, long stretch of flood rains followed by a huge windstorm that knocked over most of the trees in site.....I think that one trumps the modern storms....apparently this happened to the entire NW at the time.....lot of Brits left Washington after that storm...giving up settlements. I think it was Stephen Ambrose's "Undaunted Courage" great book....

im driving from central OR to pdx before xmas.

the idea of chains is so foreign to me.

might just skip the mountain passes altogether and go around.

2004, my senior year of high school we were off for almost two weeks of school because it snowed a bunch and then freezing rain on top. Took forever to melt.

I was stuck over at my buddies and we just got baked the whole time.
lol i was a sophomore in HS that year and i was so pissed that finals/school got canceled. i needed to make up my grade for a few classes and wasn't given the chance to.
