I just was outside. Rain stopped for the moment after stormy night but more in the forecast. Will I ever get my garden weeded?

easily have 4-6 inches of snow now...really came down strong last night
Where are you at? We only had about 3 inches or so here in NE Portland, but now the roads are clear!

Correct.

That's why when it snows you just stay home.

Or go and get important supplies.

The morons driving big trucks going 50 on the road with snow and ice are what scare me the most. Driving in the snow here and driving in the snow in Iowa or Alaska are not the same. We don't really salt our roads and we get ice roads. It isn't dry snow. Personally, i'd rather shut down for a few days instead of salting those roads and ruin our cars.

Also, people still can't drive in rain here. I blame it on people moving here from other places. Driving in the rain is nothing. Just take a smidge more precaution and don't be a moron.

Coastal range halfway between Eugene and Florence.....I'm at 800ft though..which is above the snowline here...I tried to load a photo but the photo was too big to load on this site....it's a problem I have gotten used to in life...

But those morons have winter tires and it’s the winter tires that’s going to save them.

My girlfriend and I have plans on driving to Newport from Portland through Corvallis. Would you not recommend it, riverman?

That's 45 minutes north of me so I'm not sure...check the Corvalis weather report...they have the roads cleared here now but I wouldn't want to have to drive out of there tonight or early morning if I were you....daytime you'll probably be ok getting to Newport if you cut over from Corvalis.....126 to Florence had landslides and road crews clearing that road yesterday. Personally I'm staying home and not risking any unnecessary driving..also probably a lot of businesses are closed today with the weather and the holiday...

Drove to the grocery store and back this morning with no problems. About a 6 mile drive round trip. There was an inch and a half or so of snow on the ground. We usually go grocery shopping Monday but with the snow and colder weather coming in tonight we went today to avoid more of a mess tomorrow morning.

Just cleared my driveway of the snow from last night and it's already filling in again but at least I got the bulk of it so it won't be harder later.....I have a snow shovel that's like a sled and a wheelbarrow....moves a lot of snow at a time.

weed grows year around. Clearly you arenot doing it right.

One of my first posts "here" (fanhome, actually) was about growing weed. Someone said something so naive about it that I felt compelled to de-lurk and set them straight.
