Here's A Prospect We Don't Need, But Is Intriguing To Me

He seems to come up big when the team needs him, and watching him he seems to play at that similar "slow, in control" pace that I love about Roy. I said the same thing about Stephen Curry last March.

Draft Express has him as a 2010 2nd rounder, and he's not on an NBAdraft.net mock. Am I missing something here?

Again, I'm not saying we should get him, as he is not at a position of need with Roy, Rudy, Bayless and Webster able to play the SG. But he could be a guy to look for at the end of the draft, certainly the 2nd round when he comes out, if his stock hasn't risen before then. I'm just surprised he is rated so low given how much I've heard about him lately coming up big at the right time.

Anyone have an opinion?

At this point I need to watch him more before I officially jump onto the Vasquez bandwagon, but given where he is currently rated, I think he'll do better than that. Write it down, I'm rooting for him. Hopefully in a Blazer uniform. With a 2nd round pick.

Maybe you missed the fact that he plays out of control with spotty decision making, that results into inconsistent play.

Well I'm just now reading the Draft Express article from a few days ago on him. But I'm mainly going off of what I've seen of him, including versus Duke right now and also when he had the triple-double a few weeks ago (although I know that it was clearly a good game for him).

Even so, he has worked to reduce his turnovers, and still dishes the ball a pretty decent amount. Worth a 2nd rounder for certain. To me.

I haven't seen him play ever, so I can't comment on that. I think he's coming back from an injury just now, so I'll watch the tournament game if St. Mary's makes it. That being said, I really am a fan of a "large guard lineup", like when Chicago used Ron Harper at PG. The extra length can really pose a problem. When is why I thought Roy and Rudy could work together decently in the backcourt, but of course you need a fast PG for defending the Tony Parker's of the world.

Vasquez would be redundant with Rudy most likely (and not just because of the names haha). Mills...I think I'd rather see where Bayless develops. But certainly if he comes out and slips, maybe he'll be okay. But again, never seen him play, so I have no judgment.

Also falling into this category for me is Danny Green of UNC. Obviously, today's performance isn't a good indicator, but the kid's having a solid year. I have no idea where he'd fit on this team as another wing player though. Roy, Rudy, Batum, Webster/Outlaw will take a lot of minutes. Could be a good backup in case of injury though. You know we wish we had another wing player right now, especially the other night when Batum was possibly going to be out. Bayless shouldn't have to play SG unless Roy is the PG.

Danny Green reminds me of a slightly shorter, poor-man's version of Josh Childress. I like Childress a bit, but not as much as some others here (Mistrel) and wouldn't throw big money at him. Green seems like a typical fillter/role player, which can be important, but I've never been particularly impressed by him. I guess I just like to have more out of my players at that position, especially if he's only 6'6". I'll stick with Roy and Batum (and Webster, Rudy and Outlaw) over Green. Same can be said for Vasquez, but I like his game more from what I've seen.

He could be a guy to have the right to...put him on an NBDL team and call him up if we have injuries. But I just don't see him as a regular. He has the game that will probably allow him to stick in the league (Hell, if Mario West gets a minute here and there) but I definitely don't love him.
