The way he catches Chris using the wrong word and then the ensuing laughter is just making me crack up so much. And Hansen's laughter! This had to be a "I want to make my translator say this stuff" moment and he's gunning for laughs.

Hansen is starting to go nuts, he needs more consistent playing time! Everytime he gets out there earlier in a game, they pull the plug too soon or they don't give him much of a chance to play his style of game. He really is a point center and needs the ball to flourish, but that creates a problem when you have others who play that role.

is this the thread to audition for The Onion?

Huh? That was a real video, not AI.

was that Yang saying that, or was that you?

I don't understand. Saying what?

you were talking about Yang, right? saying the Blazers "pull the plug too soon" when he's playing like crap. Saying he has a "style of game" when the only style we've seen so far would embarrass scrubs all over the world. Saying he's a "point-center who needs to ball to flourish"....but maybe you meant he needs to ball to flush since he's had 21 assists vs 29 turnovers while shooting under 30% on FG's and 14% on three's. Or maybe you meant give him more minutes because you want Portland to lose more games and tank harder

that's what I meant about 'The Onion' because they are all about sarcasm and satire and saying things the opposite of what is

this seems appropriate here:

I disagree about your take on his playing and the idea that he'll just continue to be bad if given more time. He never has a chance to get going. He's given such limited runs. He is a very capable player and very smart and good IQ. I think he needs to get consistent minutes more than just a couple three or four minutes here and there.

Every time I’ve seen him play 4 minutes he has gotten at least 2 fouls. Usually combined with 2 or more turnovers. That means he gets 10 mins max before fouling out and completely killing any chance for the team to get back in the game.
Now as was posted earlier by @wizenheimer if your idea is for them to tank then that might be an option. Get him minutes and secure a better chance at a better draft pick.

The refs seems to have a hate-on for Hansen, blowing the whistle if he so much as breathes in the direction of an opponent. I don't think his foul numbers are indicative of his abilities or skill. Refs are just biased and suffer from asshole syndrome. Hansen is young and over eager and needs to be more careful and choose his battles, sure, but just give him more time.

And tanking???? Don't talk to me about tanking. I despise tanking and would never advocate for it. All the talk about how to eliminate tanking is endless poppycock and mindless squabbling. All you have to do is make the draft lottery odds the same for all teams or maybe all but the championship team or the 4 teams who made it to the conference finals. But I still like just taking away every incentive to lose. Make the odds the same for all teams.

Umm.....did an AI running on WIN98 write that post for you? Or do you get all the credit yourself?

I thought he was headed to the all star game this year?

Oh yes…..I’m quite sure the refs meet pregame to make sure they are all on the same page about wanting to hold this kid down. You really just typed this>

I never said he won't get better

what I implied is he's so fucking bad right now compared to other NBA players he hasn't deserved the time he's got so far. Forget about upping his minutes. Blazers have to justify that last draft though

Look at this:

Duop Reath is/was a much better C than Yang. The only things Yang did better than Reath was grab rebounds and make assists. But those per 100-possessions numbers are deceiving; per game Yang only averaged 0.4 more rebs and 0.3 more assists. It doesn't matter though because Yang has been so putrid at anything else, any advantage he has over Duop is buried.

another thing about the notion all he needs is more playing time on a consistent basis, be advised that Reath played 258 minutes in 32 game vs Yang with 255 minutes in 34 games. Reath got jerked around as much as Yang but was still able to play somewhat efficient basketball, quadrupling Yang's PER while crushing him in TS%, winshares, winshares/48, BPM, and VORP

remember Keljin Blevins? He was a joke around here and everywhere else as an NBA basketball player. He was so bad he was an embarrassment to NBA scrubs everywhere. But, if you compare Blevins in 2021-22 to Yang this season, Blevins was better in FG% - 2ptFG% - eFG% - PER - TS% - assist/turnover% - winshares - winshares/48 & BPM.....gulp

for Portland, if you disregard Javonte Cook's 83 total minutes, Yang is dead last on the blazers in FG%, eFG%, PER, TS%, WS, WS/48, BPM, & VORP. He would be last in turnovers too, but recently Scoot has galloped over the hill and emptied his six-guns by firing turnovers at innocent bystanders and saloon windows

give Yang more playing time? sure, I like to watch comedy
