OT How bout them Mariners (7 Viewers)

I only like sports betting for NFL games. It adds some excitement to the day. I always only bet Max up to $20. Seem to do ok because I always at least break even so far overall.

Me too. Although I also place some F1 bets sometimes.
I've got me a $10 parlay bet on tonight's Seahawks game that pays $240 if it hits.

I never went. I had friends that did. I went a couple times to the greyhound parks in Wood Village before they closed in like 2004 or 2005. That was fun.

That brings back some great memories. My grandma would take me to the Multnomah Greyhound Park when I was a kid. I went a few times as a young adult as well.

It's crazy to me to think it's right at anyones finger tips now. Growing up in the 'Couve we would make the 25 minute drive up to La Center for the card rooms to play blackjack and poker. The first time we went up, me and a couple buddies were 18, sitting at the table and everyone was congratulating 'Joe' (no idea what his name actually was 25 years later) who was sitting next to us. We start talking and turns out his wife had given birth to 1st child earlier that day and just hours later he's in a depressing card room in La Center, WA.

Bunch of Vegas casinos and restaurants are doing a big 5 day sale because numbers are down going to the city. The sportsbooks there are dead because you can do it all from your phone at this point. The hotels are over priced, along with charging for every little thing, while jacking up the table minimums and making the odds even worse for the gambler (6/5 on BJ, a Triple 0 on roulette) and taking away even more of the illusion that you can beat the house.
Are the La Center casinos still there? Ilani seems to be in the way any more?

Ten plus years on this site and 2025 is the year you finally say something nice about baseball. As noted before, you are such a troll. But damn, you're so good at it. You almost had me believing it was actually Bobo you were calling a Band Wagon Fan.....keep up the great work!!
They/them SAID they were a bandwagon fan. And I just googled “troll” and that is NOT I.

Why not? My dad did SuperBowl numbers when I was a teen. He said if we won anything he would give me the money to spend at the local card shop. I loved watching the game with him and following that. Even made it to the card shop a couple times.
Dope memories. Nah, it was because it’s always with the players and they want like $100/square. No and, ifs or buts! Although Ed Davis fronted me on a square once but said if I win, he’d get HALF!!!! HA!

Yep! La center was where I played too. Theres a chance you and I played poker together if it was early 2000s to about 2006.

But its so dangerous now. Its so easy to say "one more bet." And two clicks its placed.
Yea we use to go up there pretty often, played a lot of 1/3, I would sit at the table and just grind away for a few hours. At one point I was working graveyard, would get off at 4 or 5 and head straight up there, it was always sad to see people just waiting for 6am so they could be served alcohol again. Made a few runs to Spirit Mountain as well back in the day, kind of glad I'm not around for Ilani as I'm sure the pull is strong, looks like a nice casino for Ridgefield.

LOVED going to the dog races, my grandpa and dad would never take me when I was a kid and always wanted to go. Got to go a few times before they closed down, thought we won big the first time we went but our dumb friend didn't put the numbers in the way we told him. Thought we hit a superfecta for a couple grand only to find out he flipped the 3rd and 4th dogs, instead we got nada.

And that dude lost a bunch of friends. Sad.

Yeah it was 1/3 2/4 sometimes 3/6 for me.

But limit is so boring lol. I havent been up in almost 15 years lol.

The big casino is nice, but its nothing spectacular. To be fair I havent been to that one in 5 years so long before the sportsbook and hotel were made. (Though the construction of the hotel was happening)

Yea limit is a grind for sure ... I think I enjoyed just the act of playing poker more than actually winning $ but ironically I think having that mindset helped me win a lot of money up there because people would get bored and play recklessly. Don't think I ever walked away from the LaCenter rooms having lost money in a session, broke even some and won $ overall most of the time.

Go away clown…..grown folks are talking .
lol. the guy who bashes baseball suddenly has a Mariners logo and is calling out bandwagon fans. We know you dont watch Mariner games. Baseball is dead. Clown.

Wow, I haven’t had someone google or search for me in a long time. How long did that take you son? I hope you didn’t spend too much time on me instead of spending it with your family, cause that would be sad. Can you imagine actually taking time out of your schedule, just to try to find things that other people typed on here in their free time. Wow! You take notes on a little piece of paper, or just copy and paste. If you’d like, I can send you a headshot autographed from me and Dame for your desk in your basement. Or I can send you a link on my podcast?
And just so you know, I’ve always been a Mariners and baseball fan. I don’t know where you got that stuff from. #SoDoMoJo

SEATTLE -- Cal Raleigh's 60th home run put the Mariners' All-Star catcher into one of the most exclusive clubs in baseball. It also made for a memorable moment in the outfield stands at T-Mobile Park.

During Wednesday night's 9-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies, which gave Seattle its first American League West title in 24 years, the fan who caught Raleigh's 60th home run ball gave it away to a boy in the right-field seats.

You don’t know where that came from? Still? It took me three minutes. It was easy to remember all your opinions on baseball. Go Dodgers!

We have officially gotten the bye. Either we are #1 in the AL or #2. Games will mean something to us.

Dodgers clinched and cant move up or down at all. They are the worst division winner. They have nothing to play for.

Be nice to get a couple more. Also maybe Cal can hit another but in the end the Mariners could also decide to save a player for a few innings.

Cal will play all 3 remaining games imo. He has a chance to be the AL’s top HR hitter of all time.

Suarez is something special isn’t he?

We should have paid him the first time around. Travesty we had such a glaring hole at third base because we didnt want to pay him.

But now we have to pay for Nailz and Suarez, and we better!

I was always shocked when people were saying "Naylor? Why?" Dude has been so consistent his entire career, I was so fucking excited to get him and I knew everyone would love him.

He’ll play but might not catch. Why not just DH him and let him hit away. Why take the chance behind the plate?

He'll get his at bats as a DH, no doubt, but if he wants to catch a particular pitcher or work on something behind the dish, you let him. He's the engine of this team. Him catching a couple/few innings over the next three games isn't a big deal.
