RIGHT when the M’s are making a push for the wild card too!

dstream app is the way to go for now.
However just bought a new 65” hisense 4k oled tv but it wasnt clear its a google tv and doesnt allow at&t or direct tv app options!!!!!

so i had to install dstream onto a firestick and it worked beautifully last night.
Im all ready to go for the season!

The main thing that pisses me off is that I can't use the DVR. I'll find a way to get a quality stream, that's not a problem, I was just excited to finally have a way to record every game. LAME.

Because ESPN is doing something to our ability they are Affecting us. (the Arrow hits us.) Our lack of being able to watch on YouTube TV is an effect.

be aware. Hisense runs off the google app. It does not allow att or dstream as a direct app you will need a firestick or third party app holder to use those if you want. Not sure what else they wont allow.
Otherwise ill just copy to you what i told someone else about it who asked:

Had great reviews. Picture is awesome but havent watched a game yet. Just a movie.

Sound is way better than my other tvs too. Not sure i need additional speakers.

Hisense runs off of different apps. I just bought a Hisense six months ago that runs off of Roku. You just have to check the box to see what the OS is.

Im not familiar with roku but i thought it was advertised with roku. Maybe different models different apps?
I know mine says runs with alexa maybe that was the tipoff i missed? I should have tied alexa to google?

sooo confusing these days.
So ready to go back to analog knobs with an hbo box ontop of the consule. Lol.

3,5,7,9,11,13 and a big hbo box with a knob on it. hbo/tv

anyone remember those days? Or did i just date myself back to The stone ages?

the thing to pay attention to is the back lighting.
Most tvs are now are not good for both movies and sports because of the light contrasts. Most good tvs for sports are too bright for movies and vice versa.
The hisense i bought had lots of reviews saying this was one of the best for both.

bought a 65” samsung last year and quickly found out it was great for movies but the games were too dark. Crowds look like shadows at times.

This is a hard thing to predefine on tvs I've found. I watched a few youtube videos of actual comparison reviews to get a better idea of the difference between the tvs.
As i assume most here like watching sports, i found this the biggest factor in what makes it a good tv or not.

Even when adjusting the brightness this is an issue?
I have an older Samsung and Vizio with different brightness profiles so I switch if the sun is out or its dark or movies/sports. Seems to work fine but these TVs are not the latest best picture quality.

The key to the different brightness options is how good the backlighting is. From what ive been reading/seeing, is that the backlighting will have different quality levels and depending on how its built into the tv, this affects how much play you will have with it. Let me dig up the review video i watched on this and post a link. They explain it much better than i could. Im no techy. Lol.

If you want something cheaper, then look into the Hisense U8G. It uses a different panel type than the Samsung QN85A QLED, so it doesn't have as wide viewing angles, but it has better contrast and less blooming around bright objects. It's also a good choice to use in well-lit environments because it has excellent peak brightness and amazing reflection handling, but with a semi-gloss finish, it may be best to avoid placing it opposite a window with direct sunlight. Motion looks smooth thanks to its quick response time, and the Android TV interface has a ton of apps available to download. Sadly, like the Samsung, it has uniformity issues and the dirty screen effect can get distracting during sports.

If you want the best 4k TV for sports in the LED category, you can't go wrong with the Samsung, but if you don't want to spend a ton of money and don't need wide viewing angles, then look into the Hisense.

Since the room i put this in is long and marrow perfect little theatre room for two, it made perfect sense because i didn't need wide angle.

QLED vs. OLED vs. LED-LCD
When watching sports you want bright, vivid colors which is achieved by picking the TV with the best display technology for your needs:

  • OLED has the darkest darks
  • QLED has the brightest brights
  • LED-LCD is the most affordable
Simply put, OLED TVs are better than QLED and LED-LCD screens for watching sports. Each pixel of an OLED TV lights up independently, whereas QLED and LED-LCD TV pixels are powered by groups of lights, giving an OLED two key advantages:

  • Quick Response Times
  • Absolute blacks
Dark Rooms vs Bright Rooms
When you’re in a dark room, or can make a room dark with blackout shades or curtains, an OLED TV is best. The pixels of the screen can turn off individually, making for perfect black colors. The result is a brilliant picture; dark cinematic scenes make you feel like you’re there.

The best screen technology for wide TV viewing angles is OLED, with QLED screens a close 2nd and LED-LCD under-performing. The LED-LCD screens with IPS displays are the best of their bunch.

TV viewing angle is a subjective calculation, measuring the angle at which the picture starts to noticeably degrade:

  • 0 degrees is standing directly in front of the TV
  • 90 degrees is standing directly next to the TV

Reflections & Glare
Whether it’s from a bright room with direct sunlight or the placement of your own lamps and lights, reflections and glare can be massive irritations.

BRIGHTER IS BETTER
The best way to prevent TV reflections and glare is to get a TV that outcompetes other light sources. TV brightness is measured in nits — the more, the brighter — and Samsung’s QLED TVs get the brightest.

ANTI-GLARE TV SCREENS
There are three types of TV screen finishes:

  • Glossy Screens
  • Semi-Glossy Screens
  • Matte Screens
Although matte screens do a better job at absorbing and defusing light, and thus preventing reflections and glare, they’ve fallen out of favor. Big name manufacturers like Samsung, Sony, and LG opt for glossy screens, thinking the benefits of gloss (high contrast) outweigh the advantages of matte (which can appear washed out). They do.

The amount of gloss depends on the brand, usually marketed using some type of proprietary “Anti-Gloss” moniker. The claims and performance don’t always align, so make sure to read reviews if you have an especially bright room (like a kitchen or patio) or TV glare is your pet peeve.

Dirty Screen Effect

One of the most noticeable problems when watching sports on a TV is “Dirty Screen Effect” (DSE) which occurs when a TV has trouble making a solid color look consistent. Because sports are often played on fields or courts with large swaths of area that are uniform in color, the distortion can be noticeable and annoying.

DSE is caused more often by LED-LCD TVs rather than OLED TVs. It’s especially obvious in grey or white scenes, for example in the snow, where the inconsistency in color makes the screen look dirty, thus getting its name.

Conclusion
The absolute best TV for watching sports is one of Samsung’s 4K QLED TV’s with 120Hz Refresh Rate and HDMI 2.1. They’ve got the brightest screens, best performance in light-filled rooms, very good viewing angles, and provide the most value.

If you’re embracing the “go big or go home” mentality, splurge for OLED but skip the 8K and ignore 240Hz+ anything.

If affordability is a priority, you’ll want a 4K LED-LCD TV and settle for 60Hz refresh rate if need be.

I don't think root has actually been added to Fubo yet. But it will be by the start of the season.
