Im going to pick it up tomorrow or the day after, I have to wait for Purolator to deliver my fixed 360 tomorrow from 8am-6pm so I cant really take the risk of going to buy it. Can you please do me a favor CelticBalla32?? Can you check out the Raptors court and tell me if they have the claw at centre court instead of the Dino they had in 2K7, and any additional timbits you could give me on the Raptors squad.

The court is updated with the black claw at center-court. I don't know what you want to know about the Raptors, but if you have anything specifically you want to know, just ask. Here are the overall ratings:

Chris Bosh - 92
T.J. Foird - 84
Jose Calderon - 80
Anthony Parker - 78
Andrea Bargnani - 78
Jason Kapono - 76
Jorge Garbajosa - 75
Juan Dixon - 74
Rasho Nesterovic - 72
Carlos Delfino - 71
Joey Graham - 69
Kris Humphries - 69
Luke Jackson - 66
Darrick Martin - 62 (you'll have to add him from the free agent pool)
Maceo Baston and that Moon kid aren't in the game.

I just played the Raptors, and they definitely have Bosh's shot down perfectly now. It was way off last year, but they did great in 2k8.

Also, for the person who asked, no, you can't make trades during the draft.

The dunk contest is exciting but it is really tricky. For some reason 2K loves to make crossovers and dunks very difficult to execute. I guess it plays into the realism/sim style of the game but it can be frustrating when you are missing lay-ups instead of jamming home open looks under the basket. Anyways, the scoring system in the dunk contest is a little strange, I'm still trying to decipher it.
Fuck that Dunk contest man...I've been practicin for 2 hours and haven't pulled a dunk down yet
I did find that faces in the game, overall, aren't great. If you look at the player photos in the game and then at the faces, you can see that the artists went directly from those photos to face design. Sometimes it works but a lot of the time the guys don't look quite right. A little more work needs to go into that.
Yeah they all look like greased upaliens, not a good look. I think the faces looked better on previous gen honestly.

And BG7, I don't think I've seen a madden, like, 2k game, any type of sports game ever recieve universal love from videogame critics IE a halo. I honestly don't think they know what they're talkin bout when it comes to sports games.

I haven't played too many games yet...I'm coming all the way from PS2 2k6 to this though lol, so it's a major improvement. The way the game flows is a lot more fluid and realistic. In the previous gen games I would penetrate over 4 people and throw down a perfect dunk...the gameplay on this is the most realistic basketball has been. It's not perfect, for one the navigation through the game is confusing as hell and the dunk contest is way too complicated. They should at least have a zone to tell you where the player can jump from.

So I guess they don't have this for the regular x-box? Because even though I could get a ps3 or xbox360. The thought of giving

all that money away for a game systems hurts lol. So during half-time do they show the actual high lights or just picture still frames

for the PS2 like that they did for 2k6 and 7 I think? Anyways sounds great, definitely picking this up.

Okay so I finally bought NBA 2K8 and has a couple of hours to play it today and it is alot different from 2K7....first off I find it alot more difficult to penetrate the lane with your PG and to pull of any types of crossovers or behind the back wrap around with players. I am used to the controls in 2K7 when performing crossovers so why cant I do them in 2K8? Is it because they were aiming for more realism or is there a new system to perform them? Also I have one more question, when im playing the AI and they postup they have an arsenal of different moves with thier bigs in the paint but when I try mimicking it all I do is postup and then pull of for a fade away shot or whatever nothing too fancy like the AI opponent. So if anyone can help me out with ways to pull nice crossovers and phenominal posts moves I will be pleased.

Kudos to MonumentusCeltic from the OS forums for putting this together. This will break down the isomotion moves for you in an easy-to-follow manner.

Also, this is for the Nugget and Nets fans (mainly Nets fans :-P)

What are you talking about?

NBA Jam, Madden 2004-2005, NBA 2k2, NFL 2k-2k5 (the entire series).

So Penetration is damn near impossible, I also don't like how when your moving with your guy the game seems to takeover at times. I was trying a runner/teardrop with Melo and next thing I know he's all the way at the basket laying it in.

They need to get better control on 2k9, that should be the major thing they focus on, control over your player just doesn't feel absolute.

Its not worth it. The more and more you play 2k8, the more underwhelming it gets. Running an association is the only truly fun part.

GameSpot made there score for NBA Live and it got a 7.5 and 2K8 got 8.5 so it appears that your game CelticBalla32 is better.

Thanks man, some of those I have been trying to perform but could'nt do for some reason....the more I play 2K8 the more I realize I cant be so reckless with the ballhandler like I was in 2K7 and have to pick my spots when to penetrate the lane and not just force my PG into the paint using Isomotion.

NBA Live 2008 has some new gameplay on it, sort of like the game Skate were you have to use your thumb to move around and do tricks, I guess its the same for NBA Live 2008.

That ballhandler game?

That game's on the PSP...it's pretty interesting, too. almost like a DDR type game I guess. hard to explain it really. Although it was interesting that you have to turn your PSP sideways to play it.

Not too comfortable to hold it sideways, either...prolly easier to put it on a flat surgace, haha.

Lol, holding your PSP sideways doesn't seem to fun, but the only game that I love the most on PSP is Ace Combat with all the planes and machine guns, I love seeing the sky and clouds in a small screen ahaha.

Hey can they do dunks from the freethrow line in the game on xbox 360 etc...? Got it for the PS2, picked up

James White and did a 280 off of two feet from the freethrow line in a game. LOL

Well for Xbox 360 will be about $350 dollars and the game will be $60, which adds up to a total of $410

Actually it's more like a 270. Starting with the side of your body facing the basketball then spin with your body in front.

Hey I have been playing Assossiation mode all the time since buying 2K8 and decided to check out the dunk contest over the weekend and I realy enjoy it, not really news but I think its been dont really nicely...sure sometimes you dont see perfectly animated dunks but it still looks amazing.

Yeah, I think it's much better than Live's slow-mo animations.

I just played my second overtime game. I was Portland, playing against the Knicks, and I won in OT at home. I also got my high in scoring with a single player, scoring 32 with LaMarcus Aldridge. Brandon Roy went for 24, James Jones hit huge FT's, and Oden also put up 11 points, 10 boards, and 4 blocks. I can't get enough of this game.

I'm playing 2k8 with subs, and my question is why do players like Ginobili or Marbury get matched up with Nene at the PF position? Is there a way of fixing this stupidity?
