I just have one thing to say

Batum, Fernandez, and Bayless are getting more love right now than Oden. Who would have thunk it before the season started??

Batum has started more games than our other three rookies combined. Who would have thunk that before the season started?

He's actually started more games (62) than Brandon Roy (61) this season. The only Blazer who has started more games than Batum is Aldridge (65).

I'd include Batum in a package for Danny Granger or LeBron James, but that's about it...

Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Tony Paker, Devin Harris, Dwight Howard, Durant, etc.

But, yeah, I get the idea. I wanted to trade for Gerald Wallace, but when they said the Bobcats wanted Batum, I wanted no part of that. That was a deal killer for sure.

Before tonight I was kind of disappointed that we hadn't traded Batum in a deal for Carter.

Now I get it.

I'm here to say that Kevin Pritchard is smarter than me. Well, at least this one time.

Well, I didn't want to include Batum in a trade for Wallace or Carter, but I never would have predicted that Batum would outplay Vince Carter head to head - this season.

Actually, Batum proved last night that you don't have to hit threes to spread the floor. Carter would sag off him and Batum would just cut to the open spot on the floor, scoring over and over.

That's what really impressed me about Batum last night. He was much more active at getting himself open in position to drive, rather than just camp at the three point line. It's like somebody said to him, "Look, you aren't a great three point shooter, so stop trying to be Martel Webster. Let me show you how Darius Miles got that fat contract."

There's really no role for Webster on this team anymore. Rudy is a better, more confident shooter. Batum is a defender, rebounder, slasher and overall player. Bayless is better at attacking the rim. Outlaw is more clutch and capable of creating his own shot.

It's kind of like last year when we realized there just wasn't much Jarret Jack brought to the table that Roy or Blake didn't do much, much better.

I suppose I should qualify that--there IS a role for Webster as a backup for when better players than him get injured (as Rudy is now). So yeah, we do miss him in a third-stringer role.

Fair enough, we can agree to disagree I guess.
