I'd prefer a LaMarcus sign and trade

We don't need anymore PF/Cs that are young but really not that good. Basically most of those trade scenarios.

Lets assume he goes to SA....how worthwhile would it be for us to try for a trade exception? (Since we are already under the cap) And what would the likely scenario be to get it? It does last a year....

Would be a great idea for us because it gives us more options on how to take on bad contracts to get picks

Spurs and Suns have solidified themselves as frontrunners in pursuit of free agent LaMarcus Aldridge, league sources tell Yahoo.

Both of these teams have cap space to absorb him. They don't need us, they're not giving us anything.

If he goes to San Antonio and we do a sign and trade can we throw in Stotts for Popovich

That is why I was asking about the trade exception. I can think of a few examples when a team did not need the sign and trade but did it anyway to help out the other team. I want to say it was for such scraps as a 2nd round pick. But it was enough for the team to get the large trade exception.

I thought in order to have a TE you must be over cap. Meaning if you use the cap space to sign a player like Aldridge you have to renounce him. Or trading him, then you don't have that cap space

I don't think NY lacks cap space? Phil is not giving up his #1 pick. No need to.

They don't have the cap space for Robin and LMA. They would have to do a sign and trade to get both. LMA said he won't play center there.

Doesn't help us as we are under the cap and trade exception takes up your cap space. It would be a wash.

The Suns need to make a move to get him and Chandler. Other teams can do that for Phoenix but we could probably get PJ Tucker or some other asset. Maybe a first round pick. Getting Len would be difficult but not necessarily impossible.

I think we force any team that wants to take him to ditch other players or force players to take a massive pay cut. In other words, no S&T unless we get a ton of picks and expiring contracts.

How would you feel if they traded your brother, and then brought in a player in your position to start in front of you? Well, that's how Markief Morris is feeling right now.

Yeah that place would be a disaster! It would actually be fun to watch

Oh I'm sure they would offer him to us. But with his assault charges I don't think the Blazers want to deal with that PR mess.

I dunno, buy low, sell high - and I don't mean Damon Stoudamire "high" either.
