If the Cavs called tomorrow...

Let's say the Cavs call tomorrow and offer the #1 pick for Aldridge.

What would you want in the trade?

Would you do the trade at all? What would be the big picture if you made the trade?

This is a chance for those who would make the trade to explain what they would do and why they would do it.

Would I do the trade at all - No I will not trade a Legit Big Man for a small all-star or role players.

There is only one way that would make me even consider trading Aldridge.
That's if the Cavs are willing to include Irving in the trade as well as the #1 pick in the draft.

Without that, I don't even talk to the Cavs.

I think the starting line-up can compete with anyone. Do I think giving away an All-Star PF in his prime for a 19 year-old kid doesn't put the Blazers any closer to winning a championship. You want to tear up the team every summer, anyhow, so I already know where you are coming from. It's some of the newer posters' positions that I'm wondering about.

So let me get this straight, I started my post by saying that I'm totally find with keeping the core together and adding some vets, but that means I want to tear up the team?

With what this team and fan base has been through, I can't believe any of you would sacrifice winning now for something that isn't a sure thing. You pick up Wiggins and he could develop chronic knee issues in the same mold Oden did.

You know what you have in LA. You dont in your future first rounder.

What makes you so sure Aldridge isn't going to resign?

Which PF are you looking to sign who can play 36 mpg and average 20/10 while demanding double teams. I shudder to think of how bad the offense would be without LMA or another elite scorer, because all of the attention would go to Lillard, and Batum/Wes/Lopez can't create offense for themselves. Or, is it assumed that Wiggins steps in and suddenly plays at an All-NBA level?

The playoffs this year were bad enough to watch whenever LMA was off the court. Now people want to see an entire season of it, just to draft a player who no experts think is going to be elite anytime soon.

I concur entirely.

Oh yes, I'd do that trade without blinking. Already discussed it.

You've made plenty of other posts about trading LMA. Also, why would you ask if the team right now can win a title? Are Clippers fans talking about trading Blake Griffin for the #1 pick? Are Bulls fans talking about trading Noah for the #1 pick? No, their fans are talking about bringing in another good player to add to the team, not to regress by trading away proven commodities.

There is a very small, yet vocal, part of this fanbase who seems to almost be fearful of winning. It's much easier for those posters to always be in rebuild mold, where fan expectations aren't as high, than it is to be a team that is close to competing for a title, if the correct pieces are added.

In a star-driven league, the idea is to keep your star players, and add other star players. Not to give away your star players for role players and draft picks.

And you always get so bent out of shape about it. It's the offseason. The draft lottery just happened, won by a team who wanted to trade with us last year. It's a point of discussion, and passes time. How many different threads do we need to list the cast of characters availabe for the MLE? You're whining in those also because someone hasn't played in the playoffs. Don't discuss guys to bring in. DOn't discuss guys to trade. So....

What does everyone think Damian is doing this offseason?

I just find it funny that posters who are nowhere to be found during the playoffs suddenly start dominating the board with their "tear it up!" nonsense. Why does it matter to you what I post about, anyhow? These same posters are consistently proven wrong in their offseason opinions, yet it's Groundhog Day again the minute the season ends.

Deng is a better rebounder and defender than Aldridge, doesn't demand double-teams but I'm tired of these ISO plays for Aldridge anyway, Deng at least plays within the offense.

Come again?

I am going to start to go to LMA's Wikipedia page to remind myself that he's good at anything. The way people talk in here.

It's only a handful of posters. They just happen to post the same negative stuff over and over again, and then act offended when called on it.

There's a lot of draft fever the day after the lotto. Fun to talk about unlikely any major move gets made this summer, unless LA has confided that he really wants to move on.

I'm going to guess that Stotts signing the multi-year extension was a very clear indication that LMA wants to stay with this team and this coach.

I've said that I prefer to keep him, but that I wouldn't be upset if they traded him for the right deal.

Griffin is 25. I bet they would trade him for the right deal.

People are taking a smart business decision and running with it as if the sky is falling. We also have another group lookingv at free agency and not thinking about it in terms of providing our coach with players for his system.

In a heartbeat.
We won't win anything with a jump-shot orientated "power" forward.

If LA got mad enough and played EVERY playoff game like he did Games 1 and 2 in the Houston series, do you think then it would be possible?

My concern with LA is his on and off switch. He uses it very liberally.

Just Play, LA. That's it. No More, No Less.

wait does Embiid suck? I barely watched any College Basketball and not even a minute of March Madness.

If you call being compared to Duncan and Olajawon sucking then I guess he does.

If your going to trade Aldridge I'd rather do it during the summer than at trade deadline.

Cleveland should make their own do over, and trade #1 and Bennett for #4 and Oladipo

Micheal Jordan was considered overrated when he came out of college and nobody would have selected him over Bowie or Olajuwon at the time.

Michael jordan has something wiggins doesn't; killer instinct.

This is not true. No one would have selected him over Olajuwon, but there were heated discussions within the Blazers organization to take him over Bowie. Several people have spoke about it over the years

Jordan was the player of the year when he came out of school as well. He averaged 20 ppg on a team loaded with talent while shooting 55% from the floor.
