So anyway, back to Trump and what I originally said.

Do you think we should deport all of them? Should go house by house hunting for illegals? Rounding them up? Offering bounties?

Trump won't do anything other than build the wall. He will have a logical man find the logical solution, probably about like what I would do.

Make it damn sure illegal to hire anyone here without a green card. Let everyone in the country know the law. Then begin enforcing the law, by ensuring people do not hire illegals.
No job, they go home. When the Americans are working again, perhaps we invite more people to come to fill jobs that go wanting.

Some day though, it must be determined just how many people we can support in this county, legally or otherwise. We could be already on the path to that number and don't know it.
Really do need to know this before we bring in more people. You just can't grow beyond the capacity point no matter your political view.

Ha! I was 18 years old the first time anyone said that to me seriously. Over the years I have had come to accept being on that island, it's sort neat to have one to yourself.

It's easy, I believe immigration is good for America as long as we make sure those immigrating are hard working and not criminals. It's a strength, not a weakness. It's you, it's me, it's why America is a beacon to begin with. I tear up when I think recall the stories of my family, my grandparents, I tear up when I think about a good friend who came over illegally when he was 6 years old and is now an accomplished author and professor. The way to more jobs isn't to keep stagnant, it's to bring in gumption, creativity, differing perspectives and elbow grease. Stagnation leads to decay, perhaps a job tomorrow but fewer jobs with each passing year. Growth brings innovation, a budding new class of workers, manpower and upward trend in the economy and a brighter prospect for future employment for everyone.
