I'm beginning to think we're going to absorb some players

I was wrong, he's 6'10 but has a 7'4 wingspan
I think defense starts with a solid defensive anchor. Even though GS didn't use Bogut in the final 3 games bs Clevland, he was detrimental for their reg and most the post season success. Ironically, he was 2nd in the league for FG% at the rim defense. That allows his teammates to gamble a bit more on the defensive end, which was one main reason why GS was best in the league.

This is why I am wanting Hibbert so badly. He's third in the league for the same FG% defense at the rim. If we really are going to try to mimic GS, grabbing a defensive anchor like Bogut. Hibbert is very close.

Plumlee is decent. Wright would be decent. But neither are difference makers in the paint. I'm tired of watching teams able to drive in the paint and score.

If Koufos is open to relocation, he should absolutely be on our radar in FA.

was pretty interesting to find that even though our own myers leonard contested a smaller percentage shots, he held them to a more than respectable 42.3%

Well that's why you get Wright or Kofous (Kofous is more of an anchor I guess) at $5M so you can go get DeMarre Carroll to lock down the wing with Matthews. They'll big guys on the drive and won't get blown by, which makes an athletic shot blocking center more valuable then a lumbering, shot altering center

with all the money at play in free agency I doubt either of those two is available for midlevel exemption money

Not suprising, he's big and athletic. If Meyers could become the rim protector he's capable of being and develops a little bit of a post up game, he'd be a top 3 NBA center. Imagine if DeAndre Jordan shot 90% on FTs, could shoot 3s and had a decent post game. That's how good Meyers could be.

Ehhh I think Wright is more likely. If not shed Crabbe or a mil or two somewhere, or play Meyers more minutes

We were getting punished in the paint last season. I wouldn't be confident one bit with either Wright or plumlee being our last line of defense. I will absolutely be confident with Hibbert being that last line of defense.

Ironically, if you compare Bogut and Hibbert, Hibbert is a better scorer, they play roughly the same minutes, bogut has a slight edge on rebounds, Hibbert is better at blocking shots and they both are only .2% difference in Rim defense. None of the players you mentioned are even close

If we're going to absorb another teams SF, I'd much rather have Gallinari. He has more guard skills than Gay but could also play stretch 4 because he's 6'10" and a good rebounder.

Don't mind Brandan Wright at all. Athletic, good shotblocker, but no shot and skinny as a rail.

He's so much slower that Gay is still the better player. I like the way Gallinari would fit though and his height and versatility is a plus

I would absolutely love a healthy Gallinari! He is an attacker and gets to the line. He's aggressive and isn't afraid to take it to the best defenders in the league. The injury problems worry me too much. If we can get him cheap, then I would jump on it faster than a priest on a 12 year old boy

I'd like gay for his scoring ability. Have sg and center focus on d. A trio of lillard, gay and Aldridge would give us three legit scorers to rely on

Gallinari is a legit scorer..

So if we ended up getting Hibbert and Gay, while keeping Noah, dame, Leonard, CJ, Aldridge and Matthews. Would that be considered a trade that moves the needle?
I wouldn't mind Rudy Gay even if we lost Aldridge. He's only 28.

Well, he's a decent scorer cept when he misses games, and shoots below 42% (which he has done for all but 1 season).

Serious question: has Rudy Gay ever been traded by a team and that team not gotten better the next season? Because I can't think of a time.
Memphis: kick him to the curb, suddenly a contender.
Toronto: best season in franchise history? (Still need to get rid of Derozan, though)
Kings hoping to be next: all they need is some sucker who says: "but Gay is such a great scorer!"
