Exclusive I'm not sold on Dame/Ant

Maybe I need to spend my free time combing over old ass posts too.

Dame/CJ had 7 seasons. Might want to give Dame/Ant at least 1 season

That's fine, but Dame doesn't exactly have a ton of time where he's still going to be Super Dame.

Nope, Anfernee had 3 sub-par games to start the season. They're done for.

Conversely - Ant had one good game, TIME TO GO BUMP SOME THREADS!!!1!1111

At least you are still here in support. Others seem to have bailed. Their loss to not enjoy this ride.

Man, I don’t know what this kid has to do to convince people that he’s special. He’s shown vast improvement in a short amount of time. I mean, just this time last year he looked absolutely terrible and unplayable. Look at him now. The improvement in a year is astounding.

Snark for snark Plat.

Don't dust off your snark blaster if you can't handle a shot back.
BTW--just want to make sure it's noted that I didn't use this thread to call out the OP; I just didn't want to start a new "Dame/Ant" thread when one already existed.

They specifically mentioned that they were not bumping it to call you out, just to discuss the pairing and you're still getting sensitive about it.

What does that have to do with this? We're not talking about Ant as a talent. We're talking about how Ant and Dame fit together.
You don’t trade this level of talent for fit. This isn’t the NFL. You find ways to make it work. And hopefully it’s starting to show that it’s working.

Um...Can you point out where I actually sent any in the first place?

As I noted earlier, I didn't post in this thread to call you out at all. I chose this thread because it was the first Dame/Ant thread title I found, and I didn't feel my post was worthy of being a thread-starter. I'm sorry you feel attacked, but that certainly wasn't what I was doing.

We should be talking about how all three guards fit together, not just Dame and Ant.

Right now in my mind, that is:
Dame, Ant, and Hart
or
Dame Ant and GP2
or
Possibly Dame, Ant, and Sharpe. Personally, I think Sharpe will be a SF

There's still an argument to be made for dealing Ant for another 2-way forward with some decent size (after January 15th, of course)

Let's theorize that the strategy is to move forward with Dame/Simons as the starting backcourt.

I'm not sold on this being any different/better than Dame and CJ.

CJ's best season was 2016-2017. He was 25 years old. He played most of the season. He shot the lights out.

Statistically CJ was better defensively than Ant is now. I see this as Ant's likely ceiling if paired with Dame.

I get that we could essentially have a chance of replicating CJ's offensive production at a cheaper price, but why the heck would we run it back with a younger CJ and an older Dame? It doesn't make sense to me. It's like we didn't learn anything from the past. The problem with this team hasn't necessarily been a lack of talent... it has been a flawed design, and it sure doesn't seem like we're changing it up.
I'd say you don't have a keen eye for this sport.

Sure but what level of talent are we talking about? Siakam......absolutley. But who needs a shooting guard that has an extra 2-way big? Those guys seem hard to find.

Excellent question. Ben Simmons? Harrison Barnes? :dunno:

The ultimate grand slam would be going after Durant...... but we'd have to blow up the team to do it. Ant is only like half his salary.

That hurts.
I don't like to hurt people and I take pride in not being able to consciously hurt anyone. However I am good at being a smart ass so take my remarks in stride and forget I ever said them.
I obviously am also missing out on understanding trades and draft picks, so it looks like in some respects I too don't have a keen eye.
There now you owe me a quality beer and I do not drink alone.

Ant/Nurk/Keon for Durant/Duke. Legal trade in 3 months.

However, I'm sure the Nets would also demand Sharpe and picks.

Barnes doe not move the needle for me. He is 6'8" 225 with a 6'11" wing.
Nas Little by comparison is about 225 with a 7'2" wing. Small sample size but Nas actually is shooting better than him so far.

Ant, GP2, and Keon for Simmons? That would be interesting, as Simmons is an ultimate utility player since he can defend everyone.
But for that to happen he would have to fail in Brooklyn. And if he fails with the Nets....would we want him?

I wonder about Brooklyn, if they're perhaps the polar opposite of the Blazers. All the talent, but zero fit/chemistry. I think it's very possible for Simmons to play acceptably in Brooklyn, but for them to determine that his game/demeanor is not a fit for what they need.

3 bad games: "means nothing! ignore it! don't mention it!"

1 good game: "Ant is the gawd of hellfire! He will burn down everything before him!"

Dude. This is a terrible trade. Turner is a decent center that is always injured. This is um.... not a good trade.
He has averaged over 60 games per season. I bet there are some Pacers fans who think it would be terrible for them.....

I bet Pacers fans would be in favor of that trade by something like 40 to 1.
