I hear what you're saying, in the interview he said they tried to get a few players for the mid level but they all wanted more and got more. It takes two parties to consummate a deal. I didn't get the since he was trying to avoid that whole question at all, he said they are still be opportunistic for a possible trade of it makes since?
Whats he supposed to say, well we didn't bring in any new player to replace Ed and he failed at singing a playoff vet that didn't want to be here, so I guess we'll just float with the guys we got and see what happens. I thought some of his comments re: make size segmentation made since. Also that their aren't that many trades that have taken place yet league wide but teams will probably;y be more active as the season starts to address rosters. This off season, and till the trade deadline definitely is weighted much more for him to get us to the next step.
If Zack and Biggie turn it up and we get sound contributions from the two minimum guys along with growth from JL and something from maybe 1 of the rooks, we could be right in there the rest of the 11teams fighting for 2-8. Id say based on the job he's done in the last 6 years he's in that tier two group that includes many like him, only a few are in tier 1 and they probably had more to work with than most gm's.
