My grandmothers sure never ate pulled pork!

So stay away from the carbs (all three things also included).

Try the cole slaw instead.

Re: Hey further

You kind of resemble Jon Lovitz.

Or Pat!

Re: Hey further

His first wife was Morgan Fairchild.

True story, I saw Morgan Fairchilds boobs. I was in high school and she was filming at my high school. On a path between our theater and the rest of the school, I saw and asked for an autograph. She was wearing a very airy dress, likely easy to get in and out of for costume changes. She bent over a bit to sign the autograph, and my pervy 17 year old self looked down her dress and saw a glorious braless site including nip. At 17, that made it into my bank.

I'm not exactly doing Atkins.

I'm eating 25-30g of carbs a day. Induction phase for Atkins is 20g. Some diets I read about allow 100-150, which means fruit and pasta and bread in moderation. Right now I am consciously avoiding carbs tho.

I got some coconut meal yesterday. Looks like flour, acts like flour. I figure I'll wait a couple of weeks, then mess around with pancakes or whatever I can come up with.

Let Denny or I know if you guys have a better thread title.

My doc is having me log my food and exercise on fitnesspal. It's good to have accountability, but boy is it tedious. I am like, I really want to cheat on my diet, but then I have to log my food and so instead I will eat something healthier.

I've been using myfitnesspal.com for maybe a year now.

It's not so helpful with low carb diets, though.

So it's been about two weeks and I've lost 9 pounds.

I'm not doing Atkins or any diet in particular. I'm just eating foods with low or zero carbs on the label.

I'm not even keeping a diary, but I'm quite sure I eat no more than 35 net carbs and most days 20-25.

I found these 4g carb yogurts at Ralph's - carb master it's called. Perfect answer for craving something sweet.

Some sort of eggs at 10:30, and a bunch of meat and veggies for dinner.

Another find is this chocolate milk recipe I concocted. 1-2 tbsp cocoa powder (1carb), 8 oz almond milk, and a teaspoon or two of stevia to sweeten it. If I've been light on carbs all day, I add 2 tsp of peanut butter. In a blender, of course.

Last night I easily ate a half pound of smoked pork tenderloin. For veggies I had a cucumber cut up and marinated in vinegar and red pepper flakes for a few hours.

Tonight I had a chicken breast with buffalo sauce and a stuffed chicken breast (mushrooms and cheese, wrapped in bacon). For veggies, romaine lettuce spears and low carb dip.

I also walked about 6 miles today.

Sounds like life is pretty good and getting better. Kudos! I badly sprained my ankle two weeks ago and have been in a boot, so for me it's been the opposite. I took the boot off yesterday, but still can't do too much. On Saturday I'll try a simple 10 mile ride, just to see how my ankle reacts.

I was losing weight without walking for a few days, FWIW.

I've mentioned working at Genentech, and last spring had my sabbatical, 6 weeks off (with pay) plus I tacked on a few vacation days so it was closer to 7 weeks. By the second week I decided I did not want to spend sabbatical in the kitchen and I'd stopped cooking. I ate what was in my big freezer, fortunately well stocked, or something in the garden, or ate out. I almost never eat out, but that 7 weeks I ate dinner and/or lunch out at least 4 or 5 days a week. When I go out to eat, unless the restaurant is really sucky, I get dessert, frequently wine or cocktail, things I never do at home. And I lost weight.

The big difference is I was not sitting all day. I mostly did "staycation", went to the Monterrey Bay Aquarium, Oakland Museum, Oakland Zoo, California Academy of Sciences, did two wine tours in Sonoma, etc. Nearly everything required a lot of walking. I took BART when possible, it's a mile each way to the station, on foot. And I did a 2 mile walk early every morning. I did no exercise plan and I ate what I wanted, including rich things like roast duck (twice) and dessert almost daily.

Conclusion, a big reason for obesity is not just portion size or type of food but the fact that most of us simply sit all day.

My doc has me on these protein shakes, etc. God they are awful.

Re: OT: LeBron James Shows Off "No Carb" Weight Loss

Some no carb diets work great actually. I've lost similar weight in my body and face doing those diets

Re: OT: LeBron James Shows Off "No Carb" Weight Loss

I've lost 15 pounds in about 3 weeks going low carb diet.

Re: OT: LeBron James Shows Off "No Carb" Weight Loss

By the way, don't ever do NO carbs. That will fuck you up long term. I am living proof...BEEFCAKE!!!!! BEEFCAKE!!!!!!

Re: OT: LeBron James Shows Off "No Carb" Weight Loss

It's near impossible to consistently eat zero carbs daily. You'd only be eating meats and mushrooms. There's 1g in a cup of shredded lettuce.

I'm eating about 20g of carbs a day.

Today I ate scrambled eggs with chorizo, mushrooms, cheese, and bacon for lunch. For dinner I'm having 2 quarter pound burgers with cheese, a big Caesar salad with grilled chicken, and a cup of carbmaster yogurt. The yogurt has 4 carbs, the salad dressing has 4, the cheese has 4, the bacon 1. I had a handful of almonds, 2 carbs, and some salami, 2 carbs.

It's not a burger without a bun... you're just having patties like a sad little man. The meals sound great, but don't pretend you're having burgers.
