Anyone remember when Kentucky Fried chicken had the chicken littles in the 80s or 90s. Bought so many of those.

Delicious. Not like the chicken strip today they put between stale bread.

I want my chicken to look like it came from a chicken such as drumstick, wing, breast or thigh. I even enjoy eating a back or a neck. I don't want crap that came from who knows where.

I love A & W. There use to be one in Oswego, later Lake Oswego, which began back in the mid 50s. There was also one in Seaside, now long closed.
There are A & Ws in Albany, Lebanon, Sweet Home and Eugene.
We use to drive to Reno once or twice a year. On the way we would always stop at an A & W in Oakridge. I've seen conflicting reports on whether it's still open for business or not.

I remember when their rootbeer and rootbeer floats were served in a frosty cold glass mug. Then, people started stealing them. I got one from a garage sale when I was in college.

It made me angry when they switched from cane sugar to corn syrup as their sweetener.

There are A&Ws in King City and Sherwood..
 
My wife and I had our first 5 guys Burger (sidewalk pick-up) yesterday and it was pretty good. We would give them a 7 with 5 being average.
One of the best burgers Ive had, was at High Rocks Pub about 15 years ago.
 
I used to stop by Skyline for lunch. Never really impressed. Frozen crinkle fries and all

Not the same though. Just typical fast food drive thru now.

I remember in Auburn Wa. Growing up and the old school A&W that was the sonics before sonics. Park up and order from your car window and have the food delivered on a tray that hooks to your door. Food was better, atmosphere was better....

sigh....Those were the days of grubbin up and then slipping into the trunk via the back seat to sneak into the drive ins down the road.

I remember trays hooking to the driver's window and girls on roller skates, kind of like Waddles use to do.

Waddles is probably as close to an "American Graffiti" drive inn Portland had and maybe Yah's & The Speck.

It's what you ate when you were younger that tastes good now.
I remember going on a trip with my father that took us through Pendleton and LaGrand. One of those towns has having a buffalo feed. I had read several books about pioneers and I remember stories where they ate buffalo so I wanted some bad. They had a long line which made my father say "Son, you don't want to wait in that long line, do you?" Even though I was only about 9 or 10 I remember thinking that my father just didn't want to eat buffalo and so he made up this excuse. I loved my father so I said "Yeah dad, the line is too long" even though I felt the line wasn't too long. Okay, the reason for this story: Now, when I to to the grocery store I see buffalo for sale but I just can't bring myself to buy any. Had I had it on that trip with my father I'd probably be eating it on a regular basis today.
I remember going to a friend of my parent's house to eat homemade chili. We got half way through our bowls of chili, which tasted just fine, when he suddenly announces that he used horse meat. At first I was taken back, wondering "What the heck" but then I returned to my bowl of chili and finished every last morsel. Could I eat horse meat today? Probably.
I've eaten some strange foods here and there and I could eat them again but others that are a bit out of the ordinary I could not eat and that includes emu and camel not to mention bats.

There’s a place on my route called Barbur World Foods. The owner is a Lebanese guy. You can get Burmese Python meat for $35 a lb. You can also get Kangaroo, alligator and all kinds of others.

I’m a carnivore the extreme. Thinking about trying out some funky shit for the hell of it.

For many decades that was a Piggly Wiggly.
You used to be able to get elephant meat and quails eggs at Stroheckers' market in the Portland Heights on SW Patton road.
I don't eat no kangaroo, alligator or python. In fact I don't eat no snakes of any kind although I've heard it tastes like chicken.
