Many in the know believe Chip Kelly will leave Oregon after this season, taking some form of his entertaining style of offensive football to the NFL.

Many also believe the Ducks then would promote offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich. That would continue a successful formula for Oregon, which hasn't gone outside for a head football coach since Rich Brooks in 1977.

But it's not that simple. Not anymore.

What does chip have to prove staying at oregon? A natty, sure. But he can go take a crack ay the nfl making two to three times more. If he fails he can come back to college football and have his choice of any college. He could even go back to oregon like riley did at osu.

Jon gruden is rumored to be thinking about a comeback to oakland. Could gruden recruit chip to be his oc?

That's a good question. My thinking is that Chip would strongly prefer a head coaching job. That said, if he were to accept a coordinator position, Gruden would be as good a coach top work under as it gets.

Why would Oakland pay their OC $3m a season, and why would Chip want to make lass money after turning down the Tampa job? There is literally no chance of it happening.

This is odd.

Oregon's diversity law carries no penalty for those who break it, which Sachs said was deliberate.

When I was a lad, I was always taught that if a law had no penalties, then it was nothing more than a resolution. What's the point of having a law that has no method of enforcement. It's like when MLB said steroids were illegal, but had no testing in place. Pointless.
