social platforms don't define what I choose to be exposed to.....they do get to say pedophiles can't advertise on Nickelodian or the Disney cartoon network though

I love youtube...but the way youtube works the front page is always music, Blazers content or Asian cooking programs...it reflects what I search...I use it selectively and it responds accordingly...facebook I dumped many, many years ago mostly because I have some really annoying relatives I don't need around my life.

Yeah, I can see that. Every six months of so I have to get a music fix. Man, we had some exceptional musicians.

As to annoying relatives, sorry to hear that. I just envision a bunch of Trump hats, hahahaha

Being that one can still go and listen to this man on his website. It's not really controlling what you're exposed to.
If they were to take him off the internet and prevent him from accessing it all together. Then we could talk about limiting what one is exposed to.
We could then talk about the US government is doing what other countries do to their population. By limiting or preventing their access to certain news.
At the end of the day Alex Jones is still a free person able to think, say and do what he wants.
He's just not free to say and do what he wants any place he wants.
Which frankly, no one is allowed to do or say whatever they want, wherever they want.

How about if they start controlling stuff you like, because the company does not agree with the content. I have already stated that Jones is not my cup of tea.

Seems to me if they were filtering pro gay content, pro Laza content, Pro anything else, most would be up in arms.

Sure they can but google owns YouTube. Facebook collects data on people as well as YouTube. Both have been around forever and allowed billions of videos of all kind of content. We aren’t talking about some small site here or business. This means something bigger because of the powers behind these two massive companies

I have said before, there was a time where Alex didn’t fall into the character and trap of being on a political side but recently he saw he had gain to back trump. At the same time real parts of him shined through like when trump was dropping bombs on Syria. Alex came out and said things against him. There was a time where Alex would talk about very real things that have happened, real conspiracies. These days he goes off the rails but like I said it’s harmless. The sandy hook thing was so long ago and he went back on it and apologized. So yeah I guess if you want to hold him to that, fine but what he is doing isn’t hate speech. That’s dangerous when huge companies like Facebook and YouTube censor him and call it that because it’s simply not and that means they can just call anything hate speech. I’m not for that. If it was actual hate speech I wouldn’t be debating this one but it’s not. It’s just a guy talking about conspiracies and being a right wing source.

I don't care who owns youtube...I don't use Facebook...you don't have to use either...I control my viewing or listening content...just like I control what I choose to read. Google doesn't bother me...places I can find on Google might bother me...I don't search that content though just like I don't read about who Brad Pitt is dating or how big Kim Kardashians butt is...I grew up reading the newspaper and read only what interested me....then it stoked my woodstove kindling..nobody has to be a victim to stupid feeds on a website or entertainment tonight content...

He said banned on every major platform most of his fans listen on. They essentially took away so much of his viewership all because they don’t agree with his opinion. If you’re okay with that then, wow. I see the same dumb arguments. “He said that one thing about sandy hook”, yes many years ago and backed off it and apologized about a year ago. “He can still post it on his website”. That’s not the point. This is going over some of your heads. This isn’t YouTube, Spotify, Apple, Facebook, and it happened all at once. These platforms were designed for people to speak freely. Not silence somebody for their opinion unless it actually is hate speech then yeah shut it down. However it’s not

the main point is that these are big companies doing this. Yeah it doesn’t affect you. It ultimately doesn’t affect me. It rubs me the wrong way though because of the fact they can just censor somebody like that. That’s not a good sign generally

But I wouldn't.
Unless the company is funded by the government, aka getting taxpayer money.
Then imo the company is allowed to make their own decisions.

I personally don't agree that certain bakeries were 'protested against' for refusing x.
But I'm aware, like a lot of my thoughts. I'm in the minority.

what problem do you have going to his website and listening to his show? it's simple to find the guy without the use of other websites.

They can cancel advertising anytime they want....big companies have their own marketing departments and owners can do what they want with them....you don't have to support them and you can still get any controversial content you want on the net....they don't have to give a shit if it bothers you or not just like Jones doesn't have to give a shit if he bothers me or not....choices
