How many countries allow a couple of 22 year olds to walk around the city and suburb neighborhood blocks brandishing AK 47s?

Because I think the right to firearms and the 2nd amendment is alive and well in the US.

I love how the Stanford guy got all angry at me...... quoting my original posts ...... blah blah blah. Sorry I made such broad generalizations, what was I thinking. I think if you have common sense you got what I was posting.

All I was doing was stating that on this forum and in people I see in the news the same people who own guns and don't believe in global warming, also tend to believe in GOD and go to church. Am I wrong? They are also usually against gay marriage and abortion as well, right? I don't think these broad generalizations are that far off. Am I wrong?

You don't tend to see somebody who is against guns be FOR cutting down trees. Or somebody that's PRO abortion believes in GOD.

The Stanford guy gets mad at everybody. I don't use the actual ignore feature, but he's the one poster on here I ignore.

Why did you love that?

To be honest, I wasn't angry. I felt a little sorry for you and your inability to make logical conclusions and instead you built strawmen and attributed them to people who believe in God.

Sorry I made such broad generalizations, what was I thinking. I think if you have common sense you got what I was posting.

Right. It's me that is missing out on the common sense as you try to boil the issues down to everybody should own guns and cut down all the trees.

You should probably stick to creating threads about yourself, begging for attention.

he doesn't beg for attention, but he does beg Mrs. HCP for sex on friday nights.

So now you've turned your attention towards me and not my thread topic.

I'm a militia of one against an army of stupidity whenever I come on here.

That's an interesting way of describing your internal struggles, battling inside to stop yourself from your mass of horrific posts. :MARIS61:

Conservative Christians tend to be republican and get the guns are good/ global warming is fake jammed down their gullet via fox news/ rush/ etc

Anyone with half a brain can make up their own mind on a subject though, regardless of advertising and the "news"

Ahh.... therein lies the problem, friend. It's clear most people don't have "half a brain". This message board serves as a microcosm of that.

If Stanford wannabe is this angry and facetious on here imagine how miserable it must be interacting with him in real life setting.... Yowzers....

Well, since there was no substance in the original post, there wasn't anything to discuss.

I understand that your "Stanford wannabe" schtick comes from a feeling of inadequacy. But I don't know why you think that saying it will actually bother me. I've never brought up going there, but you seem to have such an issue with it being in my profile. Your inadequacy runs much deeper than simply worrying about where I went to school. :MARIS61:

Dude, quit trying to live vicariously through me. It must get old at some point.

Must of hit a sour subject on the Stanford thing. Yowzrs

So, you believe in something because it's written on paper? Would you believe in banning gay marriage if we put that down on the same piece of paper? Did you know that blacks were once counted as 3/5 of a person? That was written on paper, too, so you must clearly agree?

WTF are you talking about? The 2nd amendment is about having the right to keep and bear arms. It was put in place by the framers to prevent another tyrannical government from controlling the populace. How does that have any bearing on gay rights or racism? Believing in the 2nd amendment is not believing in a piece of paper, but subscribing to a philosophical view about the public protecting itself from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Uh, you should re-read the thread (or even read it a first time). But I know what the 2nd Amendment is. I clearly wasn't referring the 2nd Amendment only, but laws in general. But whatever.

I would think a mod would be a fairly good reader. :dunno:

I don't need to read the whole thread to see that you jumped on me, and yes you were referring to the 2nd amendment. You are referencing my post.

I believe in guns because I believe in the second amendment.

I don't believe in religion.... I think there's something though.

Trees grow back.... so yeah.

Global warming is now climate change. Make a note.

How is that not referring to the 2nd amendment only? You tried to associate believing with the second amendment with banning gay marriage and racism. Pretty awesome actually.

HAHA! Love it! Who wouldn't want to live vicariously through somebody carrying boxes around all day? $65k, bitches! Dreamy!

Obviously you really do need to go back. One, my initial post was in jest, like, "You believe in everything as so just because it's on paper?" To further illustrate the point, I then tossed out the 3/5 rule, as if to say, "it was on paper - should that be believed?". Sure, I responded to your post that said 2nd amendment, but my post never says anything about it, and I clearly ask "So, you just believe something because it's on paper?" How is that referring to the 2nd Amendment only?

But yeah, keep believing that I was actually saying that rule was part of the 2nd Amendment. Yay for your (lack of) reading comprehension. Nobody else took it that way. You know how I know? Someone would have responded and called me out for it, considering the responses to my post.

Didn't you go back to school?

Money.

Not.

Well.

Spent.

Wow... way to be a standup guy. First you slam me because I said I believe in the 2nd amendment, then you bring up my being a mod (which has no bearing on this whatsoever), and now you're basically calling me stupid. Nice one man. Good on ya. Real classy. Maybe I should go look through your posts so I can make fun of your personal life :dunno:

You BOLDED the part about the second amendment. I never said anything about paper or laws or anything remotely like that, yet you took it upon yourself to start asking me if I believe in other things that are on paper..... If you don't see the ridiculous correlation in your argument, I don't know what to say. And if you're trying to say that the post was in jest, sorry, but it didn't come off like that at all. Seems like you're just trying to cover your tracks.

LOL. I really think you should go back and read. Never slammed anyone for believing the 2nd Amendment. I highly implore you to find that. You've twisted my words quite a bit. Need proof? Go read your post where you try to educate me on the 2nd Amendment, like I'm some idiot. You twisted my original post, and then treat me like an idiot, and then I'm the bad guy? Before you start pointing fingers, look in the mirror.

LMAO. I swear to God. I am laughing right now. You have to be messing with me.

I said this

You said this

That is one of the dumbest responses I have ever read. Don't need to go back to school to see that.

Yes, and a few posts later, I asked for an elaboration. Because, really, all the 2nd Amendment is (as any of the Constitution, Bill of Rights, etc), is something that was written on paper. I mean, all you said is you believe in guns because you believe in the 2nd Amendment. WTF does that mean? I asked for an elaboration? What's so difficult for you to understand here? Do you blindly go with what your told?

For someone who is worried about losing freedom re: the 2nd Amendment, I'd think you'd understand my point.... people often just go with what they know, what the system says. So it was kind of an ironical thing, poking some fun at someone who sounded like they just go along with things, when there are people that are so willing to give up that same freedom right now because of fear. It clearly went over your head. It's cool. Just move on.

So that makes it okay to start slamming me personally? I wasn't "educating" you. I was pointing out WHY I believe in the philosophy behind the second amendment. Some people think the 2nd amendment is about owning guns for the sake of owning guns. I believe it's about keeping the government honest and protecting the people from tyranny. I don't see how that's calling you an idiot. If you really think that your original post was you politely asking me what I meant by my believing in the 2nd amendment, I don't know what to say. It sure seemed like some kind of nonsensical rant about blindly believing things because they're on paper.

But really, do you think any of that excuses you bringing up me going back to school? Is that really appropriate behavior?
