Some people think the 2nd amendment is about owning guns for the sake of owning guns. I believe it's about keeping the government honest and protecting the people from tyranny. WTF are you talking about? The 2nd amendment is about having the right to keep and bear arms. It was put in place by the framers to prevent another tyrannical government from controlling the populace. How does that have any bearing on gay rights or racism? Believing in the 2nd amendment is not believing in a piece of paper, but subscribing to a philosophical view about the public protecting itself from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Uh, you should re-read the thread (or even read it a first time). But I know what the 2nd Amendment is. I clearly wasn't referring the 2nd Amendment only, but laws in general. But whatever.

To further illustrate the point, I then tossed out the 3/5 rule, as if to say, "it was on paper - should that be believed?". Sure, I responded to your post that said 2nd amendment, but my post never says anything about it, and I clearly ask "So, you just believe something because it's on paper?" How is that referring to the 2nd Amendment only?
