That's the price you pay for jumping into the middle of the debate I guess. Lol
We're not even close to the middle of this debate and mags, you're charging prices for joining a conversation now? You're fired as the debate policeman!

When did I sign this contract? WTF are you talking about? So I have a contract with the police too?
You guys are killing me...

You don't have to sign a contract.

What else are you confused about?

As an government employee, you take an oath and are paid for services of that oath. It's very much a contract

I'm not a gov't employee and regardless the fire dept comes and puts fire out at my home.
There is no contract needed. Please explain....

Yes, you are the one arguing socialist countries don't mandate military service without fact checking! Lol

It's structured as a military hierarchy. It's not socialism. It's authoritarian.

It's a feature of many forms of government, socialist, republic, communist, etc.

What point are you trying to make?

I don't see one.
You can choose not to see one..great thing about democracy

A contract is when you are assigned a task, the. Are paid for that task. If you don't get paid, you can sue that party for not paying you. They are contractually obligated to pay you

I didn't make that generalization, but I did refute your gross generalization. See an army recruiter in your neighborhood and get back to me in two years

Huh? When did I sign this contract? You MFs don't understand what socialism is...

The fireman has a contract with the city/county/whatever to put out fires in exchange for benefits.

There's nothing socialism to it. It's a contract.

Using Canada, which you were wrong. Then you used Sweden, which was wrong. So what else?

We pay taxes to the govt for those services, not privately owned companies in most cases

So what?

We have a contract with the govt. to provide certain services in exchange for our taxes.

The contracts are unique to the individuals and the government, too. Mags pays more for his fire protection than you do.

This is complete bullshit.

Poor people don't pay taxes. So where's their contract?

In 2010 Sweden ended mandatory conscription, in 2014 they changed it to only include former military personel for recall...they don't require conscription unless you've already served and you can be called back to duty

Yeah socialism!!!!

Yep.

Firemen are paid money and receive other benefits to put out fires.

Contract.

Work performed in exchange for consideration.

No, I get this benefit. Not the firemen. I get to, whether or not I pay taxes, have my car, house, apt, or person protected by the fire dept. No matter how you spin it I'M getting this benefit...

How is that bullshit? Or is this something you say when you don't have facts to the argument?

See my fire dept post above. I'm getting the benefit whether or not taxes are paid by me. People who are living at the poverty level are protected by fire, police, ambulances ect. You're God Reagan made it so that hospitals can't turn away people in emergency situations regardless of ability to pay. Remember?
