Is Chris Paul the trade KP is working on?

Multiple run of the mill players for a star are exactly what you want. My guess is that when Paul comes back from last year, he has a year like Wade had after he was injured for a whole year. He will feed off of it. Pull the trigger.

J Quick on WAW says it would be a 4 for 1 and very painful for the Blazer fans but good.

I'm guessing it involves, LMA Rudy Miller and Pryz or something like that.

Gave enough hints that point out that it's pretty much CP3.

I'd happily do that to get Paul (and bad contract, preferably Okafor). Actually, put me down for thrilled.

The deal originally reported was actually LMA, Batum, Miller and Przybilla.

I'd sadly do that. Without a doubt I'd do it, but I hate to lose Batum.

CP3 definitely being shopped.

Maybe he will be a Blazer after all. Might take a 3 team trade so we deal LMA and NOH gets LMA equivalent value from another team. Not sure what that would look like. LMA and West might be an OK frontline as well. Better then Okafur/West for sure.

Quick question! Why the fuck is Real Gm and Trade Machine so fucking worthless? Why doesn't ESPN Trade Machine allow one to bypass trade restrictions like RealGM? Why doesn't RealGM show salary by numbers and also allow one to edit trades? Both of them have half the solution and instead both always are simply maddening this time of year when Trading frenzy is upon us! WHY ESPN WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

/meltdown off

Losing Nic would hurt, but Paul/Roy/Webster(or Cunningham)/Camby/Oden would just be too much to pass by. Jesus.

So since Batum is the price of any blockbuster it seems, who is out there that is a defensive pro who can nail the 3 point shot and has at least average if not above BBIQ?

Batum + LMA for Paul would hurt but you do it and you do it yesterday. Batum looks like Prince V2.0 but his skills are far more replacable then Paul's.

So who then do we target to replace Batum?

You sign Mike Miller for the MLE. Miller wants to leave Was and play for a contender and with CP3, Roy, Oden and Camby Miller would be the right fit. He can shoot, rebound and is a decent defender.

I believe there will be a few free agents who fit the bill. Mike Miller is a guy who would probably fit very good with that crew, and he is looking for a happy, playoff bound team to call home.

Yeah...a Paul/Roy/Oden core is utterly amazing. As much as I love Batum (and would probably follow his career even when/if he leaves Portland), you can't turn that down. It's exactly the kind of top-heavy core you need to be a major title contender (except in rare cases, like the Billups/Wallace/Hamilton/Wallace/Prince teams).

If Iggy can be obtained for little talent and mostly salary relief, he'd be an awesome addition in the event that Batum is traded away in another deal.

If we pull off a trade for Paul we don't have any other players to deal for use in cap relief. There would be nothing left.

I'm pretty sure I could be the SF on that team and still hoist the trophy a few times.

You people need to be thinking bigger.

Rudy, 22, 34 for #8

Aldridge, Batum, Joel, #8 for Paul and Okafor

Roy, Oden, Miller for Lebron in a S&T

The Blazers buy a pick somewhere in the bottom of the first round to get Seraphin, Whiteside or Alabi. Let's use Alabi for an example (Miami wants to sell the 18th pick)

That leaves

Paul/Mills
Bayless/Webster
James/Cunningham
Okafor/Pendergraph
Camby/Alabi

A couple of MLE guys and you have yourself a better team than Lebron played for in Cleveland, and a better team than Portland had before the trades

Roy/Miller would be enough for Cleveland to sign off on the S&T if Lebron wanted to come to Portland; no need to include Oden in the deal. And with Paul/Lebron starting, I'd start Webster over Bayless. Other than that, I like the way you think.

Actually, if Lebron wants to come to Portland, we would hold all the leverage. No need to include Roy either. Just replace him with Camby.

First, if it's LMA + the ECs + Batum for Paul, I'm ecstatic.
Second, I don't think it is. I imagine if they say it would be "very painful for fans" it's either Oden or Roy going away. And if it's Oden that would be pretty effing painful to me.

If I'm Cleveland, I tell Lebron "I'd rather get nothing than send you to join a team with Paul, Roy, and Oden"

If NOH is willing to move Paul I can't think of a realistically better offer then that for Paul. Offloading Okafor's contract, picking up relief a borderline All-Star, up and coming defensive wing with major upside and perhaps a top ten pick to sweeten the deal? I think NOH has to REALLY think about that offer. Especially if they can move LMA or West.

BTW, this from the Hornets reporter:

# GM Bower had many many many opportunities to squish Chris Paul rumors but did not!!!! Very surprising. about 2 hours ago via web

# Buckle up Hornets fans. GM Jeff Bower was just repeatedly asked if CP3 will be traded. His answer "its our job to field call on all players about 2 hours ago via web

# ESPN reporting Hornets trying to trade down. Source tells me keep an eye on picks #22 and #34 from Portland for Hornets #11 selection.

I'd like Paul/Roy/Batum/LMA/Camby better.

Hey, if we are going to dream, dream big!

You're kidding right? LMA has shown flashes of 20 and 10. Oden has shown flashes of all-time defensive rebounding great. LMA has health going for him but has the heart of a 3rd grade girl. If we're fantasizing lets imagine LMA going.

I can see you valuing Batum over Oden based on health. I would accept that angle.

Not at all. If Paul could turn Chandler and West into all-stars, he can certainly do the same with LMA. 82 games of LMA >>>>20-30 games of Oden.

You guys really kill me. Why would you take on salary of someone you didn't want? If Lebron leaves then Cleveland will have some room to make some moves, but not if they take back salary of a guy just to make Lebron happy. Portland wouldn't have any leverage because unless we shipped out who they wanted, we couldn't get Lebron.
