Just because racists are now encouraged to openly express their irrationally hateful, ignorant, un-American bad manners at Repugnant political rallies organized and funded by the very corporations who are bleeding them to death, you blame the President?

Wow. Projection on an impressive scale.

I lived in rural North Carolina this summer and the racism there is in your face.

I remember one older lady at my work complaining about how black people ruined people's lawns by marching through them in civil rights parades. Another coworker loved to tell this joke that Obama is dark skinned because he's so full of shit. On inauguration day the mood in the office was somber, people complained that Obama was a Muslim and the only reason he got elected was because he's black and speaks well. There weren't any African Americans in that office...

I imagine the white kid acted stupidly. :dunno:

I don't see color being an issue here.

I see an entire busload of cowards who hopefully will someday feel shame for their inaction/actions.

I assume the driver is now unemployed.

here, here.

I feel bad for that kid. Think we ought to take up a fund for counseling for him. He is going to need it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I may be thinking of an entirely different incident, but I think I read somewhere that the reason the first attacker wouldn't let the kid sit next to him is because he was white...

I didn't "crucify him" for it. The fact is he blew up what should have been a non-issue into a national debate on race. That he apologized for it and admits to doing it doesn't erase the fact that he did fan the flames of racial tension. The only reason this topic "boiled over" is because the President accused the white police officer of "acting stupidly" and then gave a rather lengthy rant on race, the police, and profiling. All this during a prime-time press conference.

It's akin to an arsonist running back to a house he set on fire with a pail of water.

I'm not crucifying him at all. I am pointing out how Obama contributed to racial tensions, a point that even Obama seems willing to concede.

Let's give you a scenario, you come home, and You have trouble getting into your house. A cop shows up and you show him your ID proving you live there. He still wants to talk to you about why you're breaking into your house. Would you be upset?

I'm pretty sure the "problem" is simply people are having economic problems and want someone to blaim, sounds familiar if you ask me...

It's kind of like LaGarrette Blount. Did he punch that Boise St dude because he was white? Would have he done that if he was black?

:biglaugh: You aren't REALLY trying to say that was because of race, are you? REALLY?! he clearly called Blount a bitch, and Blount was quoted saying "they are going to whoop their asses" before the game. Blount had negative yards to finish that game... Must be because of race...:biglaugh:

Actually I think all of the kids (except for the one kid at the end who appeared to try and stop him from doing further damage) and all of their parents should be assigned to mandatory classes for one year on how to help stop that crap.

That was just disgusting.

As for the bus driver, I'm sure he got his.

I have no idea why he punched him. With the information I have, that is about as possible as any.

Charly Manson had a beard. He murdered a lot of people that didn't have Beards. I think he did it because they didn't have facial hair!

Why don't you research by watching the video.

or does racial tensions seem to be heightening in this country? It has felt this way for several months. From the Kanye West thing the other night, to being unable to criticize the president without being called a racist. There are other things that have happened that are not coming to mind. But something doesn't feel right here of late..

Am I the only one feeling this way?

Gates didn't give his ID to the officer until Gates had berated him. I still think it was a set-up that backfired. Why would Obama be asked a question about this non-story at a primetime presser?

Well, he should have shown his ID right away. I think he would be asked that question because they wanted to stir up something.

Nah, it was a reporter from Chicago who asked the question. Gates lives in Cambridge. My thought is that Obama thought his pearls of wisdom on racial profiling would wake us all up to reality. Instead, he clearly took a side based on race, and it has backfired on him. His pressers are 100% scripted.

Are you saying that the reporter from Chicago was told/asked to throw up that question?

Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. Why would Obama even know about the Gates thing? Wasn't this supposed to be a healthcare presser?

That made me rage.
Where in the hell was the bus driver during all that fighting? The guy should be fired immediately. Either that or beaten up by the other bus drivers, just so he can know first-hand how the kid felt.

I would assume Obama would know about it, because it was on the news and he is well informed? Why would the president know the names of our starting line-up when he spoke to Greg Oden on the phone before being elected?

So just to clarify, you think Obama who is SO careful about his phrasing, and according to some being vague and leaving loop-holes, planned to have someone ask him about this, only to give a seemingly unscripted response, that was actually scripted?

Is that an accurate description, because that seems a bit conspiritorial to me.

Because he was briefed on the starting line-up. He probably had a list in front of him.

Yes

We're obviously not on the same page, so let's just drop it.

Lookie. Lookie. Former President Jimmy Carter is playing the race card now saying that the overwhelming amount of people that opppose Obamas health bill are racist.

Then you have idiots like John Rich who is given air time adding to the problem.

Country Star John Rich was on Hannity tonight.

"That boy is lucky there wasn't some country boys in the crowd, if there was, that boy would have a serious problem on his hands".

In regard to Kanye Wests actions at the VMA awards.
