look how fucking desparate the left is now. you oppose him, you're a racist cracka! you protest his actions...its akin to being in a KKK rally!

Where in the hell was the bus driver during all that fighting? The guy should be fired immediately. Either that or beaten up by the other bus drivers, just so he can know first-hand how the kid felt.

Those aren't little kids. If you are a bus driver and you are watching 5-10 people beat up on one kid, what are you going to do? I would probably stop the bus and call for authorities, but I damn sure am not going to try to step in. It's a quick way to get your own ass kicked.

Especially if the bus driver was a white dude, at least on this bus.

especially when white people don't like black people being higher than they are.
Especially when professional hypersensitives use bullshit accusations of racism to bully their ideological opponents.

Then you have idiots like John Rich who is given air time adding to the problem.

Country Star John Rich was on Hannity tonight.

"That boy is lucky there wasn't some country boys in the crowd, if there was, that boy would have a serious problem on his hands".

In regard to Kanye Wests actions at the VMA awards.

Let me guess: That's a racist comment, right?

you do realize that it was a black guy who ended up stopping it, right?

That's a good thing. I'd hate to see what would have happened had another white person jumped into the fray, which is why I posted what I posted.

I don't know if there was anything racial about it. But in a period of time when it seems that racial tensions are escalating. The last thing you need is some uneducated, country singing, southern hick given air time, talking about how lucky Kanye West was that there wasn't more country boys in the crowd. And threatening to kick his ass due to his actions.

You wanna fire up the hoods. This will do it.

lol! It's like being called anti-patriotic every time you oppose something that a Republican does! lol!

yeah, him apologizing profusely for his VMA behavior on Leno the other night was like pouring gas on the fire. Good point.

I'm not saying that racism the driving force. I'm simply saying there are clearly white people that do not like a black person in power. There is no way that a majority of the conservatives feel that way, but there is going to obviously be some tensions when a black man in in power.

I know there are legitimate claims about the decisions Obama makes, but I would hope you could agree that some of the unrest about him is simply because he is black, or an imaginary Muslim, or an imaginary foreigner.

I'm not sold that Kanye West is a bigot, I think he's an attention whore and an idiot. I think he might exploit or exaggerate issues.

Just curious, do you believe that his actions at the VMA were a publicity stunt for Leno's first show? If so, was it his people who came up with the idea, or Leno's people?

Indeed.

My problem is that many see racism as the only driving force, and that some of that particular many use projected racism as a tool for political and/or financial gain.

What I feel it really boils down to, is a fear of big government. "OMG MY TAXES!" "OMG HEALTHCARE!" "OMG GUN CONTROL!"

So, quick question for you - have you ever been to the South? And I don't mean the Atlanta airport....

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8260109.stm

So let's see - now Obama comes out in defiance of Carter and says it wasn't race.

Hrm..let's see where the right can take this - was it that Obama didn't say it fast enough? or loud enough? Or that he didn't arrest Carter?

I think a few of you need to suck it up and give Obama some credit.

Yes, I have. I was stationed in Kentucky for almost three years, and I traveled around within about a 200 mile radius quite a bit both on and off duty. I've been to Florida on vacation a couple of times, and Texas on business a couple of times. Why do you ask?

Suck what up? I don't get it. Carter said some opposition to Obama is because of race, and Obama made a statement to the contrary. Are you saying that people on the right claimed that Obama thought that Wilson's outburst was race related?

Just curious whether you've seen racism in its most blatant form. Because you seem hypersensitive to charges of racism. I don't think criticism of Obama is inherently racist and it's wrong to jump on that bandwagon, but I think it would be equally as silly to presume that some of the complaints, and some of the protesters aren't out there explicitly because of racism.

Because the whole start of the thread was about rising tensions and then there were comments by some...*cough*...who seemed to suggest Obama was responsible for it..or at least for not stopping it.

And yet again he's tried to defuse the calls of racism.

I have, as a matter of fact. Violent examples, in both directions. I am hypersensitive to being accused of racism because my political world view is different from that of the President.

I agree completely. And the people who claim that all or most or even a large minority of the protesters are out there explicitly because of racism are the bigots, projecting their racism onto non-racists.

My "Great Untier" comment was meant tongue-in-cheek. Get it? Uniter? Untier? We need a smiley for that, lol.

As for the President, I find it mildly troubling that his seemingly instinctive reaction to the Cambridge Police incident was to immediately side with the black guy against the white cop. I'm not saying he's a racist, but that definitely looked to me like a sign of a distinct bias. He is indeed taking steps towards trying to ease the tensions, but those steps seem to always be backpedaling instead of striding forward.
