Is it me or have fans begun jumping ship?

Posts such as this one do nothing to help out the board. You seem bitter and angry about something. No need to take it out on another poster. I agree with oldmangrouch. Anything poster who wasn't blowing smoke up the Blazers' ass this summer was mocked and vilified, and you were one of the primary offenders.

Thank you for your opinion.

I don't know how I missed this gem. This maxiep guy is the bestest fan of all-time! His daddy took him to games (not like that's unique, but whatever). He is judge and jury of who and who is not a Blazer fan!

Nope. I'm just a fan. I can tell the difference between bitching and constructive criticism, however.

Huh? I've been pretty reasonable about the team. I take the good with the bad. I don't think you can say I've been overly positive or negative.

You were agressive towards any criticism of the Blazers, particularly Aldridge and Roy.

I swear anytime I bring up the fact that Aldridge is soft, I'm lambasted around here.

I've been following this team since Game One myself, since my dad took me to see Portland's new NBA team play Cleveland. You can speak your mind, but you can't call yourself a "realist". Also, you're not much of a fan (and I've earned the right to judge). You're just negative. Period.

All hail the judge of our "fandom."

Scratch that, now that I think about it, you have been pretty critical of Miller and Matthews.

Two of the guys that probably have least to do with why we are average right now.

I'm only curious about one thing...... is there a Hall of Fame for fans, and how can I get in?

Haven't you heard? Just bitch and moan about why we don't win the championship every year and you can be a "realist".

So what? I also think Miller is overrated, and the Oden can't be counted on, which I posted numerous times this summer. We all have our favorites on the team. I haven't called out anyone as a 'bad' fan, though. That seems stupid.

Matthews has a PER of 13.3, and Miller has trouble defending his own shadow.

Blazermania is still alive and kickin'.

The girl in the yellow was humping the chick in the Blazer jersey and then decided she didn't want none of it.

ha.

chick in the blazer jersey "stone cold steve austin'd" two beers earlier on that stage. That was fucking amazing.

and people wonder why the posting on here has slowed?

grouch may be a pessimist (only pessimists call themselves realists), but it's bad juju to question his fandom. He's earned his tenure.

The amount of problems surrounding this team last year seemed like an aberration. I think a lot of people expected it to go away to some degree this year, not for it to get even worse. Morale is just dead. It's like watching a TV show where things get bad, and you say, "Wow, that's awful. Hopefully they'll get some retribution at the end of this season." And this follows, and they say "Okay, now this is just ridiculous. I don't think I can suspend my belief much longer for this amount of continuing horror, let alone watch even more shit come knocking them down." And then the Ducks' success is a distraction. Yes, fans are jumping ship. Surprisingly, because it seems there's so much to talk about when you have so many strong opinions around here who know everything there is to know about assembling a perfect basketball team and righting the ship.

Yeah, I'd ditto the majority of non-hostile posts in here. A combination of injury sadness, forum negativity, RL distractions and Duck excitement has really reduced my Blazer post counts this year. I still follow every game, rain or shine, but lately the phrase "bone on bone" just makes me want to crawl under the covers with my FM radio and sob quietly as Wheels describes the latest on-court tragedy. I certainly have lost interest in dealing with all the smug "realists" who apparently predicted these injuries 10 years ago...

He questioned mine. I just wanted to send the message he's not the only one who has been a fan since Day One.

Thank you!

Heck, if I wasn't a fan(atic), why would I be so upset about events?

A fan is also happy when we succeed. We've had a lot of success over the past few years. You're never happy. That's not being a fan; it's being whiny.

I've been a fan since I was probably 4 years old, or atleast as long as I can remember. I was drawn to the entertainment of sports at a very early age. When other kids were playing lego's I was organizing my baseball and basketball cards. I watch, or listen to every game with just as much excitement as the next, or the last. I follow the team religiously, I tuned in to every single win during the 21 win season.

I feel if I want to raise my concerns about the team, or bash the coach who I'm not a huge fan of, or bring up our overrated PF's weaknesses, I have every right. I'll be here rain, or shine. I'll still think every draft pick is an up and coming all-star until I'm proven otherwise. I still think at the beginning of the season we'll go 82-0, until I'm proven otherwise.

Some people need calm down and not act like we have to be blowing sunshine up each others ass on daily basis in order to be a 'true fan'.

Where did I say one always has to be positive?

Another fantastic explanation. Repped.

This is exactly how I feel. Repped.
