no it is not possible to hire a new trainer. they are assigned to a team by the league office after applying for a position and passing their professional sports medicine boards. it's kind of like the peace corps like that.

Ahh. Thanks for clearing that up. I had no idea about that.

Well then, how come some teams, like the Pistons, get a nice trainer and never get injured...while other teams, like the Wizards, get their annual out-for-the-year injury?

Do the Pistons get special treatment, while the Wizards get royally screwed?

I think what you originally meant was a better strength and conditioning coach... not necessarily a trainer. We have the best trainer in the league and that's a fact.

The problem with coaching mostly seemed to be motivation. We have talent, we have guys who know x's and o's, guys who can help develop talent - we just need to play more inspired basketball.

He is basically doing the job of GM without the title...It's a vacant position but really unless Kiki is offered full control of the Knicks this offseason he will most likely take the job.
