Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?

You live in some fantasy world where Zach Randolph could bring a Deron Williams, and I'm the crazy person?

Anyhow, I'm glad your hero Zach made something of himself. I'm a bit surprised that he isn't in prison, but with the rumors out there, that may still be in his future. I don't really care to discuss him further, unless the Blazers are playing the Griz. Arguing hypothetical with a crazy person who assigns unrealistic trade value to ZBO is an even bigger waste of time than normal.

not ZBO, the $20m ZBOEC.

Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?

lol what? so zbo is so good that his expiring contract is worth more than his actual skill? glad you agree, although this season that would be zero, with teams like sacramento with over 10 million in pure cap space and teams with max trade exceptions...but yeah okaaay

its all about the expiring contracts. that's how we got Crash Wallace.

ZOMB! JOEL PRYZBILLA IS NOT GOING TO GET YOU GERALD WALLACE! :MARIS61:

Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?

So....this season, ZBOEC = zero since Sacramento has 10 million in cap space. ok.

our two firsts did that, im sure if memphis offered two #1s with zbo they could have got into the action too lol

that and the trade exceptions, there were MUCH better options for a pure salary dump, you should realize that, you really should....but you dont haha

I know it's hilarious hahaha.

He either lives in a fantasy world or knows he's dead wrong so he still keeps on saying ZBO = Deron or CP3 when we all know that would never happen.

Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?

Love the irrational homers who take their anger out on GM's because their fantasy land dream trade doesn't come true LOL

Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?

There isn't a worse year to have a large expiring contract. Who knows what the new CBA will bring?

yeah pretty much common sense

Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?

zach randolph's salary = 17.34 million

20 million > 17.34 million

Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?

I think the real question is does Zbo go into the HOF as a Blazer? Grizzly? or Crip?

What does HOF stand for in this instance? Hospitality O'Felons? House 'Oop Family? HCP Or Fams?

I wasn't aware the Clippers had a Chinese farm team.

we used one to get Crash. and if there is a lockout, if you don't have a guy under contract.....uhh...you won't have to pay him to sit at home.

And that cap space could be for naught if the new CBA radically alters the cap. Get it?

Your point is moot. We leveraged the cap space of JP to get great player who will contribute, so apparently it has value.

"could be" is hypothetical much like many of the shit being spewed about the next CBA. Its a total red herring being used in multiple situations from not extending contracts to "why its bad to have expiring contracts".

In real world situations, it worked out. So much trading at the deadline, were we to have another max contract expiring for a team looking to SAVE money, not just clear cap room, ZBOEC would make sense.

So, just so I'm clear, "All-Star" Zach Randolph's greatest value would be as an expiring contract at the trade deadline?

That doesn't say much about his worth as a player, does it?

There is no relationship between the two.

If you can leverage a large expiring contract of a player you don't need to fill a need, so be it. All-star and production be damned.

I'm not saying that we needed to keep ZBO here his entire career. I just didn't like what we got in return. Would rather have waited to see how they played out rather than jump the gun and wait 2 years for cap space.

I was always fine with the trade, and the bottom line is that the Blazers have been more successful without Zach as a max player than they were with him as a max contract player. Had the plan not worked, and the Blazers continued to stink, I would have a different view of the trade. What I remember most about that Zach trade was your complete freak out during that draft night.

Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?

Yeah, because it was a shit trade. The cap space plan didn't work out.

Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?

I still contend that pritch and penn were fired for overselling then fucking up the cap space plan.

Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?

Suck on it, all of you who said you can't win with ZBo. 17 points in fourth quarter, beats Spurs in 6 games. Meanwhile, we have still not won a playoff series. But Aldridge is better than Randolph, right? Wrong!

I'm so happy for Randolph. I think they have a good chance to reach the WCF. Suck on it, haters.

While I like Randolph's game, your argument is flawed. There is no evidence that if you replaced Zach for LMA that we would have won a playoff series.

Like I said earlier tonight; why can't we just be happy for Memphis and Zach instead of finding the negative?

If you have to beat your chest about being "right", it makes me wonder if this is a rare occurrence.

Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?

this battle has been brewing for years.

Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?

It's funny to me that we have a fan base that turns so quickly on guys like Roy because of injuries, but still hold fond memories of Zach. Amazing.

I agree, but you have to remind yourself it's the vocal minority.
