Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?

It's funny to me that we have a fan base that turns so quickly on guys like Roy because of injuries, but still hold fond memories of Zach. Amazing.

Ouch such the truth! Zach was a bitch in Portland and anyone that thinks otherwise has a very bad memory. It's great he finally turned things around, but this was definitely a process. Ask new York and clippers... They felt the same problem too.

Well duh, Zach never got hurt!

rep'd!

I agree, but you have to remind yourself it's the VERY VERYvocal minority.

Suck on it, all of you who said you can't win with ZBo. 17 points in fourth quarter, beats Spurs in 6 games. Meanwhile, we have still not won a playoff series. But Aldridge is better than Randolph, right? Wrong!

I'm so happy for Randolph. I think they have a good chance to reach the WCF. Suck on it, haters.

Your memory is flawed.

I don't know anyone nor have I ever communicated with anyone who "turned on Roy" "because of injuries." I know plenty of people who have been disappointed with Roy for various statements he has made over the past two years. I know people who think that Roy is no longer an all star or even a starting quality shooting guard in the league, because of his injuries. Some posters think the team's offense often stagnates when he is on the court, and some posters point out he is not a good defender. Acknowledging that players age, get injured, and experience diminished abilities is not "turning on" a player. I don't want Geoff Petrie or Bobby Gross on the Blazers anymore, but I most certainly have not "turned" on either. Honestly, I'm really sick of this straw man that people "turned" on Roy because he got hurt.

I was starting to come around on Zach until I saw those two endorsements. I wonder what Z-Bo instead of Bosh in MIA would look like.

It's a good thing that genius KP got rid of ZBO!

He's real awful! But I guess this town was crying that they wanted a bunch of choir boys. Well you got what you asked for! THE SOFTEST TEAM IN THE NBA! What was it that everyone used to say? In KP we trust! LOL. Pritchslaped allright. Dam that man did a number on this team.

Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?

Zach Randolph dominating Thunder. Playing like an All Star.

this seemed like a good place for all of the "Shouldn't have gotten rid of ZBo" topics. Let me know if you have issues with that. Thanks.

What's worse? Passing on Durant or trading ZBo for Channing Fry and the chance to pay Steve Francis $30 million. Watching Durant and ZBo in 2nd round while our team is done. Not to mention ZBo won the Citzenship Award for the month of December.

Oh yea, and we traded Darrell Arthur too. He's looking like a solid back up to Randolph. Blazers are going nowhere. Grizzlies may reach WCF.

This shouldn't be a surprise. Randolph was 3-1 in the playoffs as a starter for the Blazers.

Last summer I ran into Roy downtown at Pioneer Place. I had a broken arm at the time. He was very excited to see me, gave me a lingering hug and tried to kiss me, and did some pelvic grinding. I got away from him eventually, with the help of a mall cop, but before I did he told me he was sexually attracted to casts. Weird fetish if you ask me.

What? Oh. Then nevermind.

Trading ZBO for Channing Frye is way worse. Made no sense at the time and it even makes less sense now. Hard to predict Oden injuries but the way KP flushed out All Star Talent for soft shooting big man like Frye is a joke. And because of why? He wen to a strip club or something? lol. KP sent this franchise back multiple years with his moves and now Cho is forced to try and dig out.

I was pissed about ZBO leaving for nothing in return. I did however understand the reason. He was the last tie to a pretty bad era here in Portland. They wanted to start from scratch and looked at it like an addition by subtraction type of thing. I love him, we could use his toughness!

Yeah I never hated Zach either. He wanted to make the people around him happy and made some bad decisions in the process.

Seriously, I've never seen a fan of a team so obsessed with how others are doing. Z-Bo also led his team to the lottery for 6 straight seasons, but who's counting?

Just be happy Zach has finally got it. Don't need to stick it to any fans. He was a horrible leader in Portland, New York and L.A. Clippers. He has finally learned to lead a franchise and that's awesome! Good for him.

Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?/Genius KP rid of ZBo (merged

Portland, New York and the Clippers are apparently horrible front office organizations.

Wow...just looked it up. The last team to get out of the first round from those three above were the CLIPPERS.

Or maybe, they had a terrible player to build around at the time. Sorry, but anyone that seriously thought Zach was a good leader in Portland is smoking da good shit! I stood by him until he left; but looking back, he wasn't a leader. Unless to the titty bar.

He was a pretty solid player on the court. Always trying hard..his comeback from MF surgery was pretty good. He worked at it. There was absolutely no one on the team that could reasonably put the ball in the hoop anyway. Same with the clippers and knicks teams.

"terrible player to build around at the time". That assumes there are any other players on the team. Those teams he were on were very sparse on the talent.

Zach's failures as a player in those earlier years are merely a function of bad management or bad teams (or both). He's the same guy he always has been.

I never had a problem with his "scoring". It was the way he lead his team. There was a moment; the year we actually won the #1 pick, when we actually had a decent team and failed. He had Roy and LMA, plus Pryzbilla. That team should have been better. Was it the coach? Was it Zach? Was it Roy? Well at that time, this was still a Zach team; which he was still a 20/10 player and we missed the playoffs.

I really think Zach finally got it. He finally took the "I" out of team. You can see just by his assist average from this season to the previous 7. They jumped dramatically. That's the stat that really jumped out at me. He is sharing the ball more. Also, he isn't taking 15 seconds to take a shot either. Better ball movement, better offensive flow, and much better "team basketball".

Re: Is it time for me to stick it to the ZBo haters yet?/Genius KP rid of ZBo (merged

Its because Roy and Aldridge were both rookies. Team in heavy transition. His assists are up because he actually has people he can pass to that can make a shot.
