So when healthy they would be even better than us.

You're making a great case for why we should blow it up and trade Dame.

Denver is like 4th or 5th in the west fully healthy.
Dames only 31 with 4 years left with a new coach and a few months before season starts?
I think Id give it another season. just me

You've seen the Blazers win a title. I have not. I'd rather not waste another year where we have zero chance. At least try to build something through blowing it up or making a trade to make the roster better.

This is just sad.
Olshey is the third longest tenured GM…and he’s never taken a risk.
He’s a bad gm
Trading Trent for Powell was a risk.

I can get on board with criticizing Olshey. He's made a lot of mistakes. But stuff like "he's never taken a risk" or "he never trades his guys".

If it's a "big enough risk" then I agree.

It's free agency. We were not going to improve this team via free agency.
Right, I'm not passing judgment on our off season yet... Dame has inside information so he might have the ability to do that. I was just kind of playing around because to say that Neil is scrambling to save his job isn't accurate. He might start to soon but he hasn't done much of anything yet.

Let me play devil's advocate here. If you move CJ for a PF of equal value, we become a better, more balanced TEAM. Doesn't that make us a bigger threat in a 7 game series?

I get what you're saying, but I'm not sure I agree with that theory. A PF who can only score and doesn't play defense or one who's a good defender, but offensive liability, probably doesn't make us significantly better.

Olshey is trying to trade a guy he's paying like an all-star, but is a liability on one side of the court w/out being elite on the other side.

CJ’s defense is underrated. What’s his block rate for a guard?

Is this for real? Block rate doesn't mean good D all the time. Especially for a guard it's the least significant stat

I truly believe olshey don't know how to build a team that's actually balanced. His vision is not a winning vision. So far there still enough bad team in the west e every year that's allow us in the playoffs. But we really right now we just 7-10 team in the west. I wasn't put my opinion in yet but with the new editions we just 36-44 win team.

The worst part is he is using regular season stats to make his case while it has proven time and time again that those things mean nothing in playoffs when you are talking about a team like the Blazers. Our starting 5 which he thinks is one of the best lineups is not even top 10 out of 16 in playoffs. Two terrible defenders, one extremely undersized sf, one good role player and one C that doesn't have the fastest feet and cannot stay on the floor due to consistent foul trouble.

Following the 2016 signings, and 2017 draft - it's amazing this guy still has a job.

Taking his moves as a whole - looking at the contracts he's handed out - I'm not kidding when I say Olshey should be investigated for collusion/kickbacks with the agents, in relation to the dollar amount vs talent on some of these contracts. (75M for Crabbe, 75M for turner, 10M for Leonard, 15M Ezeli, Nicholson 20M etc)

Neil Olshey has hurt the Blazers organisation more than he has helped it, imo.

What?

Brooklyn gave Crabbe that contract. They also gave Nicholson that contract. Half of the teams in the league gave out terrible contracts that summer. And Olshey should be investigated for collusion?! Hah!

You guys crack me up.

Olshey is the guy that chose to take those contracts on - terrible business.
Then doubled down with terrible value contract extensions for Cj and Lillard (3 for 100M & 4 for 196M respectively)
Moves that have and will hurt the Blazers moving forward.

As I recall, no CJ-based price tag has been specified for Simmons, as Morey has stated unequivocally that he is not interested in any deal with a CJ-for-Simmons framework. Would you like to elaborate on said price tag, por favor?
It was just an example, as I had stated.

Since Neil has had multiple fuck ups, we should be able to have multiple Neil fucked up threads

I hate tell olshey the playoffs already caught up to this long time ago and yes they had a good run 3 years ago but it's starting to catch up to them regular season too with CJ an Dame back court plus unbalanced roster. The problem this year we are more unbalanced this year so far then we been last year. But I am still waiting who he going sign with small MLE of almost 6 million he needs stick this signing.

Feel free to ignore us.
Oh I do ignore you guys, I barely read anything in this thread outside of a few messages I mean who wants to sit on a forum all day reading negative shit 24/7 from the group of negative Nancys. It's always more or less the same group of people every time.

But this is a forum so I can voice my opinion :) and my opinion is this thread, the hate for Neil thread and the Fire Neil thread all be put into one.

Why clog up this forum with multiple threads about more or less the same thing.

it gives people like you another opportunity to defend him

A good shot blocker can be a bad defender if they're always going for blocks, picking up fouls, leaving their man for putbacks, etc. Same with steals.

Maybe Chaunc will have him getting all-defensive team votes. I hope so!

I am not defending Neil at all, where did you get that? I dont care for Neil either for the record, but I sure as hell don't go out of my way to spite out negatives views on him 24/7. We get it, you guys dont like Neil, but no need to shove that down our throat with multiple threads
