The entire Democratic and Republican parties, minus the Freedom Caucus, if you ask hardcore conservatives.

What if you ask people who took a civics class in school?

In this country, what constitutes communism or socialism is like what constitutes art--everyone has their own opinion.

They do make dictionaries if you need to look up the word's meaning. There's also encyclopedia articles if you care to learn more.

A good start would be to eliminate big money from the elections across the board....no campaign TV ads, just their town hall speeches and the debates, then vote....6 weeks total..done. As it is poorer candidates cannot compete although that's probably where we'll find good presidential candidates...our election is a circus, a joke....and by the time we vote the candidates are burned out from bullshit and spin......we also need to make republicans and democrats have no more air time than the smaller parties have and we need more choices ...as to you guys talking about communism and socialism...we have an American communist party, head office used to be in Berkley....they sure don't get much ink and in a true democracy, they should also. The vast majority of American voters don't even know what the Constitution Party or Libertarian Party are at all. I've said before, the standards to run for the office need better vetting for qualifying to run for president. As to Denny talking about a civics class......try the military....it's as socialistic as you could get really...wouldn't work if everyone could argue like they do in DC....

According to the civics class I took, communism has never existed ....it usually morphs into fascism or socialism sprinkled with capitalism...Native American tribes came about as close as any group to having a communal system...but the dictionary would define them as animists or pagans.

Sure, let's give the republicans the right to make the rules about who gets to spend money or have free political speech.

It's been attempted many times, yet always seems to morph into socialism or fascism or some offshoot. It's been attempted here in the states as well...power struggles and greed usually win out given a little time.

Which is a good argument that Libertarianism is the working solution.

not at all...I want the republicans and dems to shrink....I'm actually done with either of those parties.

You propose just that. Unintended consequences. We need to strip those sleazebags of power, not give them more.

This was alluded to in the above tweet, but it's worth going into a bit more exactly how difficult it is for Trump to understand things. Remember, this was intended to be a private discussion, not a stump speech--he wasn't "playing dumb" to deliver talking points to his base. He also wasn't being a "crafty negotiator" because, as Turnbull explains (and Trump fails to understand), according to the agreement, how many refugees Trump accepts can be any number down to 0. He doesn't have to "win a negotiation" for that to be the case.

That was painful.

Certain people slowly realize a hit piece.

A transcript of a phone call is a hit piece?

Or did you want to defend Trump's words in that call? Maybe you think he was playing 9-dimensional chess?

The interpretation is weak sauce and the article is a hit piece. Clearly you prove my point. Certain people.

The quotes in the article make it look like Trump was trying to get the Australian PM to admit the people in question are now, or potentially in the future, a danger.

What the PM says and really thinks are two different things. Potentially.

We have the transcript, there's no need to rely on the article.

What? No they don't. They do make it look like Trump believed that the people are dangerous.

Please feel free to defend any part of this quote from Trump.

Trump: I hate taking these people. I guarantee you they are bad. That is why they are in prison right now. They are not going to be wonderful people who go on to work for the local milk people.

What it looks like is that Trump is not listening to Australian PM during this conversation, coming to his own conclusions, and has no idea what is going on. It doesn't look to me like they are trying to suggest that Trump was trying to convince Australian PM that they are dangerous, he's just unstable and not listening to the PM. Maybe it's because of his bias. Maybe it's because he is incompetent. Whatever the reason, it's painful to read.

I'm pro milk people!

Don't look up "milk people" on Google--unless you have very particular fetishes.
