OKay, wth. I was told by another member earlier today that they also sent out an email regarding suite rentals. I havent recieved either one!!!
Alright PA, get your shit together! :)

The allstar game would be the worst showcase for Portland we could offer....February in Portland? Just bad timing.

Toronto isn't exactly paradise in February and, as a native Oregonian, I'm outraged you would say that!

We'll get one once we build a couple of hotels closer to the stadium. Paul just needs to bite the bullet and build a 100 story hotel were the coliseum stands.

I've always thought Paul should offer to bring in 5 or 6 of his giant yachts for the extra rooms... it'll be the NBA version of the Fleet Week.

Just got a email survey from Justin Souvannasane as "Your New Front Office Contact" for the trailblazers. I wonder if they hired him from Seattle somewhere.

They're moving the teammmmmmmm!!! AHHHHH :smiley-195517897341:smiley-195517897341:smiley-195517897341

LinkedIn says he's a U of O graduate. Checkmate athiests!

Yeah. But just think of our booming (borderline illegal) sex industry. We just have to work that into the proposal. Remember what they say..... a stripper-o-gram a day keeps the rain away!

Did you purchase tickets from blazers.com at all over the course of the last season? If so, they are likely appointing a personal rep to each ticket purchaser. The business side of the Blazers probably uses the term Front Office a lot differently than the actually Basketball Ops side of things.

Sorry, but I live in Oregon too..used to live in Portland and if there's one month to go out of state....it's February

Now we know what month Riverman goes out of state on his instrument collecting binges.

By that logic only California, Phoenix and the South can hold the All Star Game. They hold it in the North end Midwest. I would far rather have rain.

The only thing I was worried about with the turnover initially is that I wasn't sure McGowan actually had a plan - change for change's sake. Knowing now that he had a deal in principle with Calabro beforehand assuaged all of my concerns. He went out and got an A+ announcer to replace some C+/B- guys (D+ if you want to count 'Tone).

I've had to listen to national broadcasts for years, or Wheels with the TV muted because M&M were unbearable. I'm stoked.

I listen to free internet telecasts, which usually use the opposing team's broadcast, so I hear a lot of the competition. Rice & Barrett were better in about 80-90% of the games. I'd rank Mike & Mike A- and Calabro A+.

It's sentimental to replace a mellow Northwest jazz tenor with a ferocious opera baritone, but I like change. When I listened to Calabro for 28 years, I found that somehow his informal mania compensates for his macho tuba hairy chest sound.

This is kinda where I have been coming from. Calabro is better. I'm not sure anyone would argue that. My issue is that the guys he and his partner are replacing were really good as well.

Someone put it to me this way. When we had Drexler, would we have traded him for Jordon even though Drexler was very good and Top-50 all time?

Oh, I get the argument, but we are talking about personalities, not players. Better example to me would be firing the Schonz in his primish and hiring Chick Hearn.

Does that mean I get overly excited when I figure out an answer?

Never seen that word before. Still not convinced it is one
I mde it up. It basically means "a penchant for hyperbolizing to counter a point"

In your case, it's meant as a compliment.

I liked Schonz, but admitting that Chick Hearn was a better play by play man does not take away from my appreciation for Schonz.

Speaking with my previous source again, it sounds like the two names he has heard the most for the color job are PJ and Mychal Thompson. I hope to god we don't have to hear PJ's voice for 82 games a year, I've heard good things about Thompson though.

I keep hearing PJ's name from someone that would know. He, nor I, believe the Blazers will hire a 67 year old analyst. We both think they want someone with experience, but not someone who will probably need to step down in a couple of years

I will be so pissed if it's Carlesimo.
