Jabari thinks his jersey will be retired

Of those I think we retire Lamont Strothers. He's the only one of them that's been to the finals.

Seems clear now that you just can't win a championship with #12 on your team.
Maybe rather than retiring the number we need to ban it.

Retire it with Tom Brady on it or Michael Jordan. I just read that he wore 12 for one game in 1990 when his jersey was stolen or something like that.

Only way I can see this happening is if by some miracle our team actually does find success w/o him. If we are back in the playoffs soon & making post season runs while he fails to win a ring in SA, the loathing may turn to pity. At that point, we may feel differently about hanging his jersey. But if this spirals down into a half decade of lottery tanking seasons while he gets a ring (s) there? He's dead to Portland. He'll forever be remembered for his vow to return & be the greatest Blazer ever, only to stonewall his way through the season & into free agency where he left us high & dry with no assets in return, plunging down towards the bottom feeders of the league & scrapping for ping pong balls.

The least known Strothers brother.

Seriously, I love all of you fellow fools and I'm happy we're in this together. You make me laugh and that's what basketball is all about... Are we not entertained?

Thanks! I'm glad to see you posting again!

I think I should buy a custom-made Strothers #12 jersey.

It really is ironic he'd say this considering how much heat the rest of the NBA gave us for retiring Clyde Drexler's number. Remember how pathetic other team's fans thought we were for retiring a number for a player who never won us a championship eventhough he's the greatest player, statistic wise, to ever play for the team.

Clydes number should have been retired.

BBQ at Spud's house next weekend! I'll bring the burgers and hotdogs!

Who is this Aldridge guy you guys keep talking about. Some black Haitian dude did something funky to me and I can't seem to remember the last 9 years of my life.

Oh HELL no!

What really disappoints me is that I thought Young might be that rare member of the sports media who wasn't a complete arse.

Respect is a two way street. As I have said in other threads, I have moved on. He needs to do the same.

Zach Randolph's number will be retired before LaMarcus Aldridge's. Fact is, he was Sidney Wicks with a few more years under his belt. In my mind, he never played for the Blazers. I'll just see an asterik where his name was in the box score.
I love how you are handling this. I'm not being sarcastic.
