Yeah, I'm also not looking for anyone to be banned (and I actually didn't really think MIXUM had to be banned), but let's call a spade a spade. If trolling isn't against the rules, than the "honorable intentions" thing is no longer a rule.

I explained the rule above.

Maybe it isn't exactly good intentions to troll someone.

The good intentions rule is aimed more at someone coming in the forum solely to attack people directly.

El President isn't really attacking anyone. He is pretending to want to see the world burn. If Trolling turns into personal insults then it crosses the line and is taken care of.

When it got personal earlier in the thread those posts were removed and it was asked to for the personal insults to stop.

Yeah, I just didn't agree with your interpretation. We already have a "no personal attacks" rule. The "honorable intentions" rule, I'm fairly sure, was a "no trolling" rule when it was created. As you said, a Lakers fan who came with the sole intention of trolling Portland fans would be removed--that's a "no trolling" rule.

This is Sly's forum to run, so if he wants to suspend it, especially in the OT forum, that's entirely his call. But I think it's disingenuous to claim no rule has ever changed. At least, that's my opinion.

I dont remember what he was banned for. I am sure Sly had a good reason. He doesn't like to ban people regardless of what might be thought. He gives many warnings and attempts other remedies before it gets to that

I don't think Sly banned Mixum. That was early on in his days as a mod. Sly was always the softy.

I was the wartime mod. I fought the battles with Mixum and PapaG.

you didnt and i apologize if thats how it came across. I was more so agreeing with you that the rule is somewhat a farce, in that its an opinion rule that is subjective and if it were followed to the T, half the forum would be gone... or more even.

The laker fan would not be banned or his thread/posts for trolling alone. His "bad intentions" are not just in trolling but coming here to attack blazer fans and not to have conversation or be part of the community.

Not sure I want him removed from office at this point, it would allow Pence to pardon him for everything. I would be in favor of confining him to his bunker, without his phone, for the next 2 weeks 'for his own protection'.

This was like six or seven years ago....... but Mixum has been banned under many different monikers. I believe the one that ultimately got his main account banned (by Denny I think) was making a joke about someone dying. I honestly don't remember. If the mod forum still exists you might be able to go all the way back.

and i will add my post was also round aboutly calling out the double standard. Some posters dont like el presidentes alleged trolling but are perfectly fine with others trolling, as long as they get along.

Some of the same people who bitch about el prez being a troll will like posts from other members clearly trolling.
But thats the politics of the times right?

dismiss what goes along with my narrative and call out those that don't regardless of the same acts being committed.
So goes the hypocrisy of S2.

El Presidente isn't targeting posters. He is trolling political events. There is a difference.

Most trolling is light hearted humor like me trolling HCP all the time about being a Lakers fan. He doesn't take offense because he knows that.
