They will be. Needs to be quick. Can't allow for classified files to be leaked online.
Well they would have had it over 24 hrs with the laptop. If there were someone smart enough that's enough of time to copy the hard drive and get plenty of information.

but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't at least recognize that a human life was needlessly lost.

I agree. A human life was needlessly lost--and I think the tragedy was that we have a society that could radicalize her in such a way. I legitimately consider that sad, in the sincere form of the word, not the ironic form.

I nevertheless have a hard time feeling sorry for her, which is a different thing.

Add another felony to the list. I would think once the dunce opens it up, turns it on, and tries to do....something with it, it will be easily traced.

Might not be able to get back in if they turned it off

That’s a fair response. As more information comes out, I may have less sympathy for her if it turns out she was more than a gullible knucklehead. For now, I am giving her the benefit of the doubt.

I will say this, the damage done during the summer at the courthouse and around Portland was wrong. There is a difference between protesting and rioting. Most of the rioters came out to use the protest as cover to cause problems. I am in no way condoning any of the violence or rioting. My question as you try to compare what she was doing and the protest and riots last summer, at what point were any of the people last summer trying to force their way into a room that was occupied any any senators or congressmen or women? At what point were they walking around with guns and zip tie cuffs looking to kidnap any elected officials. She was in no way a peaceful protester. She was not breaking into some retail store, not that that is acceptable either, but she was trying to force her way into a secure room in our national capital where our elected officials were trying to stay out of harms way with these terrorist's who were trying to occupy one of the foundations of our nation. So to say we say similar stuff take place at any point last year is so far from reality it is not funny.

There’s certainly an order of magnitude difference between the assault on the Capitol and the rioting around the Federal Courthouse in Portland last summer. But there were reports of people breaking windows, entering the building, starting fires and throwing fireworks and other incendiary devices at officers.

As a humanist I don't like to see anyone get killed. It's possible this woman had PTSD, I don't know. It's possible she knowingly committed an act of sedition. Again, I don't know. I find it hard to really cry for people who commit acts of violence and it backfires against them. This crowd, at least significant portions of it, was actively looking to harm people, not just building, there were stated plans to kidnap and execute Congressmembers and even VP Pence for saying he couldn't overturn election.

So I won't cheer her death but I won't mourn like I did for, say, Kent State (yes dating myself) or Brianna Taylor. People who were innocent.

Some of y'all are really that tight irl? I've moved back here for 14 years now and have met only one poster here. That was at a Blazers game and only because he had his pic on his profile and I bumped into him. Wouldn't be able to chill with you old geezers for no more than 5 minutes lol.
Pretty sure I'm the only person here that identifies as a hyper liberal but has met both ABM and MARIS and hung out with them for several hours.
